Two things stick out. First, the censure placed on the media.

I've actually interviewed him before. That's how it works. If you're a student and you ask the question, he blows you off. Otherwise, it's a string on the back. Just pull it and listen.

I agree with Forte and Nutsmackr that on top of everything else, our athletics department is pitiful. For a major university, surely we can hire people in the AD office better than Lee Fowler and Anna Belle Vaughn.

my point is not that the question should not have been asked, it most certainly should have. I just think that especially since they were warned, they should have waited until the conference had gone on a little longer before they asked it. Ok im a little more comfortable now...

The word has gotten to Chuck that he will be fired and he is not very happy about it, therefore didnt want to discuss it until after the ECU game, which is also why Lee stated to field questions after the ECU game.


the deed will be done then, he will be gone...we are just holding on for now in respect to Amato, thanksgiving and the future look of our program from an outsiders stand point.

Chuck has been fired pretty much and now is just living till the ECU game, thats what I have been told/decided.


it does make sense with it all in place.

what earth shattering info were they waiting for? there is no magic button that can make this all better for chuck, short of an instant resignation or firing.

we have failed to fire this guy at the appropriate time. There is no need to wait till after the ecu game. Do it now so that another game does not cloud the decision. We cannot get any worse than losing to UNC. It is not possible. We could promote Dick Portee to HC and probably at least win 3 games a year.

I still think if he is gone, which i think he is at this point, the appropriate thing would have been to mention it before the ECU game so the booing doesnt incur if they show Chuck or anything like that and it can kind of be a going away deal for chuck like Buntcake had.
