I got my new wheel/tire on, cleaned the carb jets, cleaned the plugs, and tried to run her up but she wont go over 2000 rpm without being connected to a fresh battery. With the fresh batt it will rev all day but the volts are still kind of low, 13.2- 13.5 when its running like 4000.

Think a new batt would do it or do i possibly have other problems?

The battery in the bike is not charged and has been sitting for a year or two. The fresh battery had been on charge but is not the right size to fit the bike. The charging voltage seems low though at just above 13 when running with the GOOD battery. Isn't it supposed to be 14?

#1 get ride size battery.
#2 ask on a ducati board if ur problems persist
rectifiers love to go bad on bikes ur bike would run fine for a lil then it would lose its charge and run like shitz

I'm gonna go out and get it tomorrow with a fresh battery in hand. Hopefully it'll keep charged.

Any ideas on a good way to cover up the area between the headlight and dash?

wait a tick i thought u had a ducati? the yellow one. i guess that's a different guy on here?

did u pickup that seca II for cheap off craigslist like for 900 i think i saw it for sale. about the dash/headlight ur best bet would be to buy the fairing off ebay.

if it were me hell i'd remove the dash and that headlight and throw a circle one on and rock with that.

I bought it a couple years ago from a guy on here, then a few months later a person (who's gender should be easy to guess) rear-ended me by mission valley. Insurance totaled the bike and gave me back more than i paid for it, PLUS I got to keep it. Yay free bike

I think dual rounds would look pretty cool but if you remove the dash what do you do with the gauges and stuff? Mount it to the bars?

na those guages are too bulky to mount to bars i would say do away with them. after a while u should know what rpm ur runnin at etc by listening and speed just look at other cars / u can tell by what gear ur in

oor just put at out 300 or so and get a new fairing from dealer if u cant find any on ebay.

if it's ur rectifier..

Well, I had the fender, but it disappeared some time ago, probably after I moved It was definitely repairable.

Take the valve cover off, bring each cylinder to TDC and measure clearances with feeler gauge. If off, take off timing chain and camshafts, lifters and pads. Pad+clearance-spec=new pad.
Order new pads, reassemble.
Should be a day's worth of work if you can get the new pads that same day.

shouldnt be any pads on that gixxer, i think its just a screw-in adjuster and a locknut.

also make sure your bringing it to the correct TDC (fire &exh.). there will be a screw out plug on the flywheel side where you can line it up correctly
