Animals don't go around trying to enjoy life. They spend their days trying to stay full and not get eaten by other animals. That's a human thing.

maybe their lack of "trying" is exactly what makes it so easy for them

As long as there's a bank account tied to his Pay Pal account, it will.

it's been covered already, that most news sources won't use a suicide as a story.

As people have repeatedly said, this is absolutely true. It probably won't be in the news.

I met this guy last year, when I was at Wolf Village; he was meeting someone he knew from TWW, and I invited him into my room to IM the guy. (He was an Asian guy w/ long hair who said he was always posting on TWW about guns.) He was a cool, down-to-Earth guy, and I always remembered and liked him. It's a damned shame, and I hope he is either annihilated or someplace tolerable

I met him once. He was my ex boyfriend's friend. He offered to drive me home one night because he was sober, my ex had been drinking and couldn't drive me, and I was drunk. Thank you again, Frank!

RIP

An older, now married (I think), sister. I don't think there were any others.

We use Euphemisms these days; it makes everything seem no normal and insouciant. What's worse is the people who establish them, tho. They just can't accept the reality of the situation, so they go to fantasy land much like the internet and play pretend.

Some of you people are such fucking assholes. You have no idea what it's like unless you've been there. Reaching out for help isn't as easy as you seem to think it is and no matter how well you know the person, you can't always see the signs.

I didn't know him, but RIP.

I know what annihilate means, but since when could it be used in that sense?

I object. And I know I am right!

And do you mean physically, or "soul-ly"?

^

At least since 1847, when Wuthering Heights was published.

Quote :
"'They won't do that,' he (Heathcliff) replied: 'if they did, you must have me removed secretly; and if you neglect it you shall prove, practically, that the dead are not annihilated!' "

"It's just one of those days where you get nothing accomplished that you wanted to and somehow you manage to take a step backward. I'm not happy with anything in my life right now. I'm stuck in two pseudorelationships where I'm not happy. Gwen is a fucking lost cause as far as I'm concerned. I don't even know why I fucking bother. I can't hang out with her without one of us feeling the need to cry, cause we both lead such shitty lives. Emily, I don't know. I'm settling is what I'm doing. On the surface she adores me but I find her rather annoying. Yet I'm not entirely sure I do. She's one of those girls that always has a smile on their face. She's self-confident, relatively good looking. Here's an interesting thought...she personifies everything that I pretend to be. I come off as a strong-willed/arrogant person that seems to never get rattled, and yet underneath I have nothing to back it up with. I'm miserable, but I keep living life showing the few people that see me on a daily basis a face that says I'm just fine. I really wish that fucking terrorist had fucking shot me the other day, it probably would have put things into perspective for me, but instead I carry on confused. I mean, what do I do? I have all these problems with myself. I see them every time I look in the mirror, and I can be strong willed enough to get a switchblade pulled on me the other day, but I can't get myself motivated enough to take a fucking shower or work out. I really want to give up this semester, I can see myself just flunking out of everything, I can feel it. I'm so broke that I'm behind on all sorts of payments, but I keep gambling on-line, lacking the self-discipline to get out of it. I just can't get myself to break out of all the downward spirals that I keep putting myself into. I just want to give up, point blank."

This was my last LiveJournal post dated 15 Feb 2004 at 1:07 a.m. For any lurkers that may be reading this thread contemplating suicide or just feeling really depressed, I want to say that I could have never imagined how great my life has turned out in the last two years. There have been some shitty times, don't get me wrong (Jan and Oct 2006 in particular), but I've been to Africa, I've traveled to practically the end of the world in South America, and I've got a great job that I enjoy. I graduated my two degrees of my triple major Magna Cum Laude. I cannot complain. And I certainly could have never envisioned that this would be my life. At times I've been, lucky, others I've made my own luck. Either way, it's made for one hell of a turnaround. Depression's a bitch.

As long as we're owning up to shit, I totally got the lamest of all lame.

I once wrote a poem about how I wanted to kill myself and left it up on AIM for a half a day. I actually wasn't suicidal at the time, but here's the super pathetic part...

The poem rhymed.

I was also among those who had talked to him, but never got to know him really well face to face. He seemed like a nice enough person. Resilience is a part of human nature, it's a sad and unnatural thing when someone gets to the point where there is a total absence of optimism in their life.

anyone who thinks that their life sucks so bad that it must be prematurely ended, needs to sit down and talk with a patient who is terminally ill and is struggling daily to survive.

Wow---just wow

I am so sorry that I did not know him

I feel this is appropriate and it seems he was successful

To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded
