^^^^^ eh, i don't think i'll be all overprotective like that. my goal is to raise her well enough that she can take care of herself.

^^^ ha, i'm in the worst shape i've been in years...the last couple months have been killing me, with the XC drive/move, getting settled into a new area, getting started at a new duty station and scrambling because of the upcoming deployment, and then spending a week and a half on leave travelling around...my gym activity has been rather sporadic lately.

but just wait until i come back from 6 months in iraq with nothing to do but work and work out.

^^ dude, i must have had 50 people tell me that she has my eyes. i can't see it, but i'm not good at seeing that stuff.

^ yeah...i think all of the shots outside the black were from 25 yards (the 4 holes in the corners are staple tears, not bullet holes). i shot a 382 out of a possible 400 points (345 is expert, the highest level of qualification).

that was a few years ago...i just qualified again, but had a sort of off day. only shot a 370-something this time.

i actually shot a tighter group this last time, but the pistol was a little off. i was having to offset aim a few inches left, but i didn't start doing it until i'd shot a nice tight group of about a half dozen rounds...into the 8 ring.

i actually saw a girl shoot a 385 one time...she'd never fired a pistol before, either.

i thought i was a badass with my 382 until i saw that (although my friend who's a prior scout-sniper shot in the low 390s. the range chief from this last time holds the cherry point range record with a 398!)

My goal my whole life was to fly, but that was shot down (pun intended) when a RECRUITER told me that because of my eye injury I'd never fly or even be infantry. I'll be damned if I'm gonna be a bombardier, medic, or cook. So I went the grow-your-hair-out-and-become-a-rockstar direction, which is working out great, but I still wish I'd had the shot.

This girl is so smart...not even 2.5 yet, and can count to 10 by herself, sing most of her ABCs, and is completely potty trained. No diapers, no pull-ups, and for the last month or so, hasn't wet the bed or anything.

I just talked to her on Skype. She told her mom, "Don't tell me what to do!" I had to stifle my laughter at that, then get it together and tell her not to talk to her mother that way.

^^ oh, she is SO my daughter. i remember when she was probably a year and a half old, she would climb up onto the couch, then up on the BACK of the couch, then jump off. you had to watch her like a hawk CONSTANTLY, because she'd do stuff like that whether you were there to catch her or not. By the time she turned 2, she'd jump into a swimming pool, bob back to the surface, and start trying to dog-paddle.
