Stillman Staal Cole
Whitney Brindy Williams
Ladd ______ Walker
LaRose Letowski Adams

I'll take it. They've got a little over 2 mil to sign the mystery center. Get a guy in there who isn't too soft and that line can bang some bodies around and score.

QUALITY

I hope someone from camp can take that fourth line center spot, though.

I want to see them get either Esposito or Couture, but I have my doubts that either will make it to 11th.

I think there might be a backlash because of the way Roy has been talking him up.

Maybe not.

Anyway, I think there's a chance, and we'd be stupid not to take him if he falls into our lap.

i thnk letowski needs to gtfo asap. lets nudge hedican out, trade babchuk, and find a cullen-like center for cheap and a top d-man.

I feel fairly sure that Babchuk will be gone during the draft Friday or Saturday. Maybe they package Letowski as well, but I have a feeling he's going to be on the roster at least to start the season. Could not agree more about Hedican. Love the guy, but as it is now we have $2.3 million to sign a third line center. If Hedican calls it quits we've got $4.7 million to work with for a center and defenseman.

Then again, if Kimmo Timonen is getting over $6 million a year, maybe we should avoid the free agent market.

Welp

Hedican is coming back

EDIT:

Quote :
"But Rutherford said a trade is likely to shake up the Carolina blue line and bring another offensive-minded, puck-moving defenseman into the group.

“I’ve talked with a few teams, just about the fact that we’re interested,” Rutherford said. “With our situation, it would probably be a ‘D-for-D’ trade, a lateral move with two different types of players.”"

Okay that's not so bad as long as we get somebody

^^^ Alberts had like 6 inches and 30 pounds on walker (not to mention alberts still had a helmet but soctty took care of that) and walker still kicked his ass.

two teams have met with Esposito 3 times: Carolina and Montreal. Rutherford is the only GM to have a one on one with him. Montreal seems to be aware of this and is trying to swap picks with Columbus.

If we lose Commodore because Hedican wants another kick at the can, I'm going to be pretty pissed.

come on now, there's no way in hell JR will trade away Commodore

that'd be dumber than getting Vasichek back

also, it would be awesome to trade up for esposito, anyone have any links to highlight reels?

I hope you're right, but you may be in for a shock. JR says he is looking to do a defenseman for defenseman trade to get a mobile, puck-moving defenseman.

Kaberle - not going to be traded because he is the only guy they have right now with decent offensive upside
Wesley and Hedican - not going anywhere
Wallin - i thought he would be the one to go but reportedly he has a no-trade clause
Babchuk - obviously he is going to be traded but he has very little value at this point
Seidenberg and Hutchinson - basically no value

That leaves Gleason and Commodore. Commodore's contract is up at the end of the year. Sadly, he would probably be the likeliest to go.

Yeah, I definitely understand where you're coming from, but Commie is such an image for the club and a fan favorite that it'd be hard to see him go.

At this rate they may be able to. I've been hoping we'd put together some kind of package to get a pick somewhere in the late teens to pick him up, but I don't think that will happen at this point.

Our new jerseys. Basically the same thing except for a white stripe at the top that looks pretty terrible.

You'll never have to question work ethic or desire with a Sutter, so I'm cool with our pick.

Not the most exciting draft for us but oh well. Hopefully we can get a little depth in the system.

1 (11). Brandon Sutter, C/RW, Red Deer (WHL)
3 (72). Drayson Bowman, C/LW, Spokane (WHL)
4 (102). Justin McCrae, C, Saskatoon (WHL)
5 (132). Chris Terry, LW, Plymouth (OHL)
6 (162). Brett Bellemore, D, Plymouth (OHL)

7th round pick traded to Montreal for goalie Michael Leighton
