i guess my point was even if she was dead, she's only been on the show for 5 episodes and shouldn't really get a silent countoff. plus i don't think she's dead. i think this was the first silent countoff that didn't accompany an important death.

sure, a lot of stuff gets repeated (the white house plot, so far, is rather stale) but that kind of comes with the "real-time" territory.

and I know that's what comes with the real-time situation. I'm just saying, this episode in particular was pretty boring, compared to the rest. Thats why they have like 4 or 5 plotlines going simultaneously - so when a couple are taking a rest, the others can pick up he slack. it just seemed that in this one, all plotlines were basically on autopilot, and they spent an inordinate amount of time watching people drive, or listening to long boring conversations, or standing around watching people die.
it wasn't bad, and i'm not damning this whole season, just commenting on one episode

all you saw was a cloud of smoke. you saw two airplane blips on a green radar, 3 minutes of dubaku telling the stubborn broad to look out the window, and a big cloud of smoke and fire.

there was no feeling in it. yeah he went through with it, and its shocking, but still. There was no sense of loss or anything. it just...happened and that was that.

Not showing the actual plane crash probably saved them a couple hundred thousand

If it were a movie, they would have showed it, but with TV you gotta cut some corners

and they probably overshot their budget for the two night four hour premiere

so they had to cut back a bit for subsequent episodes
