I don't know everything about the FS, but do you always control the action of the character?

No, I don't think so. Like Pit for example calls all those dudes to come in and while you still control Pit, they do their thing. Kirby too, there isn't much to control really, it looks like he just pulls out that giant cauldron.

This shit is starting to piss me off... i stupidly patched my file with brickblocker (the new version) which fucks it up. my title screen loads and then dies. now i've gotta download a whole new file. fucking 4.4gbs (at least it's going semi fast) if i can't get this shit to work tommorrow I'm gonna punch a hole through my screen.

so, played about 6 hours or so on vs. now with a bunch of friends. We've unlocked Ness, Marth, Luigi, Sonic, and Falco. still have 8 to go. as for gameplay, well it's like melee. no suprise there. with the exception of final smashes, which are really fun depending on who you are playing (diddy kongs is just dirty) graphics are a good step above gamecube but still you shouldn't expect xbox or ps3 caliber shit. but still very nice, very pleasing to the eye. there are a bunch of new levels and here is where i love the game and FUCKING HATE IT. this moving levels shit is such a pain in the fucking ass, i can do the sidescrollers and the climbers, not that bad. but the wario ware and other type shit that seriously fucks you up if you are focusing on kicking someones ass just piss me off. all in all though, still a fucking blast

After looking at some gameplay videos, it seems like Pit's move set is really over powered. He can glide, has three additional "jumps", a decent projectile, an awesome edge guarding move, decent final smash, and a projectile shine. I'd like to know how fast he moves.

So how different is Fox in terms of how he was in melee? I see from the website that his moveset is the same, but how does he compare in terms of speed and recovery times?

The local EB Games here is having a Brawl tournament on the night that it opens... obviously everyone who plays is gonna be a n00b at the game but I'm hoping that if Fox is close enough to his melee character, I will have a slight edge. Winner gets a bunch of free stuff and a trip to a bigger tournament.

This is a really stupid question to ask.. but what exactly is a "tilt" attack?

And also - are Poo, Jeff or Paula assist trophies? I wish one of them had been put in over Lucas.

Never heard of a tilt attack but it might be some attacks that you can change the direction of. Like Link's boomerang can be tilted up or down.

It's an attack where you barely tilt the joystick to the direction of the A attack you want while grounded. I know that's not a good explanation so I'll give you an example.

For an up smash, you press up all the way on the joystick and A at the same time. For an up tilt, you just press up slightly on the joystick and A.

^^^^ Holy crap thank you. I wish they had put Jeff in as a full character, he has such a good moveset. Bottle rockets, bombs, ray guns... he could be freaking awesome. I'm glad he at least made it as an assist trophy and Pokey is a SSE boss.

Thanks - I played the other two smashes a little but never super in depth, I loved them both though. I'm trying to read up on this one to be better and play online and such, I kept hearing about tilts but had no idea what they were.

^I hear you man. It took me a long time to figure some of the technique names that "pros" had come up with. And a lot of times they would just abbreviate or something which made it impossible to figure out without doing another 30 minutes of reading around.

But anyways, in general, I don't think a lot of these advanced techniques (wavedashing, etc.) you might be reading about made it into brawl. It seems like they took out a lot of the advanced stuff and turned the game into more about mindgames/strategies/etc. Of course, I could be wrong.
