Food Lion has changed their coupon policy.

As we have not gotten any official announcement, I'm not sure if it's a permanent thing or some strange computer error, but we are now doubling coupons up through at least 75 cents.

this might have been asked....

but if the coupon says in the fine print "limit one coupon per product per person" or do not double/triple.....does HT ignore that?

http://www.thehonestdollar.com/2008/03/07/price-discrimination-and-why-coupons-exist/

I thought this was an interesting read, especially since I'm going to start clipping coupons and things.

Quote :
"There is serious truth to the statement that “coupons are a great way to uncover a person’s true intentions.” Coupons are a form of price discrimination, the practice of selling the same thing to different people at different prices. Price discrimination only works if sellers can discover a person’s true intentions."

HT only accepts 1 manufacturer's coupon per product. If the coupon says "do not double" but the bar code starts with a 5, it will still double/triple

If the barcode starts with a 9, it will not double/triple

And at HT, all internet coupons (printables from smartsource, coupons.com, etc) will not double/triple at all.

^^you can bid for coupons on ebay, just search "grocery coupons" and there will be plenty of choices

today i bought 200+ coupons for $2.50, which will easily translate into about $75 savings when harris teeter triples coupons next week

every time i look at the coupons, i don't see stuff that i normally buy. i occasionally find the ones on the little red machines for cereal and stuff. but thats it. i guess i should look harder if HT doubles them every day. i can spend the extra money on candy!!1

Do you people have families and only shop for groceries once a month or something? WTF $100+ grocery bills?

But then I buy chicken breasts and cheese bulk at Sam's, rice at grand asia, and whatever fruit is on sale/in season. Don't think coupons could save me too much.

I take my discounts seriously

I went shopping at the health food liquidation grocery store

I try to spend the least amount of money as possible

If this is real I MUST know where it is.

Having food intolerances makes it pretty much impossible to save money except for buying fruit and meat on sale and eating them with rice.

All of the above.

I'm gonna order some coupons online. Might spend $4 but I'll save a lot more than that buying stuff I want.

after working at the food store for a long ass time...nothing is more annoying than the people trying to do coupon shopping. they come up with like 20 coupons, and they seriously cant read. either they fuck up the item the coupon is talking about, cant read the date, and sometimes cant ever read the store name on the coupon (they think lowes is foodlion...) and then they bitch about it.
