I'm glad they gave the star to the kid who was working the hardest instead of the charity case. I mean, Pharoah seems alright, but if he wants the star he should work harder and be a better contributor. Running around talking about how his momma's bills are piling up makes it sound like he wants welfare.

It seems like a lot of these kids (Pharoah, Divad) are just now realizing that there aren't many stars left and they think they can hustle for a week to get one.

He is socially inept, but the council made it pretty clear that they had to choose between the kid who had worked hard since the beginning versus the kid who had just started trying because he wanted the star.

working hard only since you found out about the star is a little misleading, since they gave out the first star only like 3 days into it if i remember correctly, and now they are on day 20 or something. i'm sure it did give many people more of a reason to work hard, but also in the first couple days you are just settling in to the whole situation, and your true character might not have come out yet, so just because you didnt work the hardest in the first 3 days, doesnt mean you are only working harder for the star after those 3 days.

what i want to see is this show without the stars, that place would be all kinds of fucked up i bet

^ It just seems like they were fine going with the flow and not really doing anything for the first few weeks. Now they are realizing that the stars are going to the hardest working and the best contributors so they are trying to make up for it by working hard for a few days and campaigning for it. The difference between Pharoah and the homeschool kid (Nathan?) is that Pharoah would go back to not doing squat once he gets the star. Nathan(?), while being socially inept, is a genuinely hard worker from what the show writers have let us see.
