I think I remember that game. I'm pretty sure he only had 9 points, poor bastard. Again I blame George Karl's worthless ass.

I caught the highlights on NBA.com from last night, Iverson won the game in overtime against the Blazers with .9 seconds left. gg AI.

Why would anyone want to watch the greatest athletes in the world play a 48 minute game of basketball when they could watch Duke dry hump each other, sprint to the bench before every timeout, slap, flop and play patty cakes with the floor up 40 against NC A&T for 40 minutes a game?

Just watched almost all of that Lakers/Nets game

Gasol looked great...24 and 12

Kobe only had 6 and they still won by 15

Once they get more familiar with each other, I think LA is gonna right up there with the big three out West

i saw a stat about a month ago and i think it said when kobe scores less than 20, the lakers were 12-1

also there were maybe 2-3 games where 3 different lakers each had 20+ points and none was kobe

i put down $100 tonight and me and my buddy each took an east and west team and if one wins the finals then the person wins...I went chalk and took Detroit and San Antonio (hope Parker comes back strong) and he took Phoenix and Boston

This could be a year that the NBA has been waiting for where you have in the NBA FINALS

KOBE VS. LEBRON

I don't think people realize how good gasol is. This lakers team is going to be good. really good

I don't want to base my predictions on the Lakers over that game....just because the Nets suck that much.

But yeah...Gasol is nasty. Just because he's been struggling a little bit with Memphis this year doesn't mean much because they are horrible and he was looking a little disheartened playing for them...not to mention he's been on the trading block for the past two years (I wonder what it would be like to know that your team is constantly shopping you??).

3 point contest contestants announced today...seems more star studded than usual

Kapwno, Peja, Kobe, Rip Hamilton, Nash and Daniel Gibson

Surprised to see Kobe in there but I'm sure the league is thrilled to have him...I don't like his chances tho

Predictions as we get close to the contest, 10 days from now

Also the dunk contest...Gay, Howard, Gerald Green and Jamario Moon

Kobe is trying to do what no other player has done, although Jordan, Ray Allen and Barry all tried (maybe Ceballos tried too can't remember)

which is of course win a dunk contest and a 3-point contest

I think Barry still has the best shot of doing it

I heard that Jason Richardson was offered a spot but declined it

I'll just have to root for the former Bobcat instead

[Edited on February 6, 2008 at 3:42 PM. Reason : during the suns game steve martin said that jrich had been invited to the 3pt contest but declined ]

yeah I was kind of glad J-Rich didn't accept because hopefully that means he's more focused on getting the Bobcats into the playoff hunt than winning individual accolades

although if he had to do either dunk or 3pt, i'd prefer 3pt, not just cause he'd be the first to win both, but i'd imagine you're less likely to get injured in a 3pt contest

not that dunk contests are notorious for injuries, but rodney carney fucked up his ankle at the college contest a year or two ago trying to take off about a foot behind the FT line

the college dunk contest is usually more fun to watch than the nba one nowadays...cept for that faggot ass David Noel

The Iguadola dunk off the back of the backboard 2 years ago was pretty fucking sweet tho

i gained a huge appreciation for James "Flight" White from that contest that Noel ended up winning (because White couldn't land his between the legs from the FT line dunk)

i think it was that same year, Bennerman was in the contest and he had Justin Gray toss him an alley off the side of the backboard and Cam Ben jumped from the baseline and dunked it

I think I can understand the rationale behind Richardson's decision

I would probably be a little embarrased if I would a fringe allstar candidate and was hanging around all these players who did make the team, but I was just showing up to partake in a contest

With Nash, Kobe and Rip, they're already there. With Peja, he lives there so its no big deal. And Gibson and Kapono will never be confused with All Stars so they're just happy to get some recognition,

But with Richardson, he was hopeful that he would be selected as an allstar, so it would probably be hard to go to New Orleans without feeling like "Man, I should be playing in the fucking game!" all weekend

Man Josh Smith keeps fucking around with a triple double with his crazy stat self

Tonight he had 17 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists, 5 blocks and 2 steals

Horford had 15 points and 20 rebounds

and Kobe's finger must really be bothering him...only 4-16 in the loss

excited about seeing Webber's debut with the Warriors. This is a less expensive risk similar to the shaq trade. (yes I know the Suns sved money by making the trade I just meant that Webber is costing them less than a mil)

IF Davis wouldn't have shot and missed all those shots they might have had a chance. Entertaining game. Webber looked fat. But if he gets in shape, he can definitely help them out.

Beidrens is become a beast inside

and LOL at Wallace's 2 airball free throws

Basketball is the only sport where such a significant part of the game can be performed consistently better by a 10 year old girl then by some of the best players in the world
