Got my tickets, and will be there tonight. Watched the HBO special and they spoke alot about it being more comedic and having more comedy in it.

I am agreeing with others, that it needs to be darker and getting dark by now. The kids that started watching the first one have grown up and should be able to take the darkness by now.

Oh well...will be there tonight!!!

Just got back from the premiere, here's my thaughts:

Beginning: Boring

Middle: Hilarious

End: Horribly done

Overall: majorly disappointed

the only good part of the movie was the liquid luck sequence... the random "HI!!" had me laughing my ass off.

otherwise, it was very dull and bland throughout.

I thought the movie was pretty good, but jesus the audience annoyed me. There was this chick behind me who screamed so damn loud though when Harry stuck his hand into the water to get water for Dumbledore. I could have kicked her in the face. As I was walking out, I'd say 40% of the audience was crying. I mean really, if you read the books, you knew this was coming already.

Wow. You'd think a director doing a book adaptation would do backflips to have a moment like that to film as the climax of a movie... yet they chose to do it offscreen?

So far it sounds like that scene has been reduced to something that would happen to a generic/no name character in the background while the "real" characters fought it out.

i honestly tend to get choked up during movies more than I should. I figured this scene would definitely pull on my heartstrings, knowing the ending and all. However, I didn't feel a thing. And I didnt notice anyone crying in our theater after the movie either.

That would be correct had the director not entirely removed the gigantic battle from the ending of the book. It was more just like ZAP! LATER DUDEZ.

to me, the movie seemed like someone just cut out parts of the book, pasted them together, and called it a script. except they left out any kind of action sequences at all.

I was pissed about them leaving out the Battle scene as well, but I figured they did not want to duplicate the FINAL battle scene of Book 7 (Movie 8). I do believe they could have put in and changed parts and had fun with it since book 7 is going to be 2 movies, the battle scene at end of HBP would have vacated most people's memories by DH-2.

But I enjoyed the movie alot and thought it was great. It had alot of comedy which was great, but they kept the tone pretty serious at the same time.

Would have liked more Quidditch though.

Saw it this afternoon at North Hills. Movie started late because of technical difficulties, and then the house lights never went fully out. Because of the lateness, as soon as the credits started, the film stopped, the lights came up in a "get the fuck out" manner. My friend complained to one manager (there was a family also with complaints too) and she basically said she didnt give a fuck...asked to speak to her boss and he actually knew how to keep people coming back to his theater, apologizing and giving us each two free passes. I honestly could have dealt with missing the credits, but her dismissal of our complaint was ridiculous and unprofessional.

As for the movie, I liked it for the most part, but the final "battle". Would have liked to have seen more of the memories of Tom Riddle, and the quidditch match where Ron completely sucked it up (to establish even more that all he needed was confidence). Also, I read the last two books back to back, but I thought Hermione and Ron actually got together at the end of this? It was odd that she actually told Harry why she was pissed at him...I thought I remembered her just being mad, and it being obvious why, but not actually sharing why.

I realize they dont want to make epic 3+ hour movies with each of these, but Ive never understood why they didnt do Lord of the Rings style extended editions for DVD...maybe not 30+ minutes of footage, but adding a few key scenes back in would be great.

There was a pretty serious projection issue on the opening night of Star Trek at North Hills that they completely refused to acknowledge. I even sent an email afterwards to their corporate contact which was also ignored. GG, MONOPOLIES.

North Hills had some sound problems tonight but nothing too bad.

Movie was boring though, glad that my dad paid for it and I didn't. The highlight of the movie was Harry talking about Aragog's pincers.

So, I haven't read the books so this is based just on the movie. (i know, i know, i need to read the books! Especially because I love reading!)

Anyway, So I thought it was kinda slow...and I was slightly disappointed. I feel like the previews showed a lot more action yet there were like two parts that had action. I did like the comedy aspect of it, there were quite a bit of times that the whole theater laughed and that was nice. I guess this movie was giving more background, deleveloping the characters more now that they're older (like having to deal with love.) The movie did succeed in making me want to see the next movie RIGHT NOW because I felt that this entire movie was just there to set up the next one.

By far though, I think this was one of my least favorite HP movies. The last one was a lot better and I think it was because it had a lot more action in it and it was a lot darker. Hopefully the next one will learn to have both the comedy and the darkness that HP fans want!

I actually thought it was one of the better movies from the series. I did not like that they added in scenes that never happened (Burrow burning for one thing) to take out scenes that did happen (Dumbledore's funeral). I didn't like all the made up things thrown in there (Lily's fish Francis). But I did like all the little details this director remembered to throw in. Like the ring on Tom Riddle's hand, or the lemon drops on Dumbledore's desk. I liked the "inside jokes" that they didn't care to explain in the film. I thought it was a better movie because there were parts that people who hadn't read the books wouldn't have understood.

I liked the levity, because this was still a fun book. But I also liked that there were very dark scenes. I am most dissapointed with the lack of a fight scene in the end, but I was prepared for that. I also didn't like the beginning scene with Harry in the train station. He never would have done that. And I didn't like that Luna was the one who found Harry on the train.

But overall, I left with a very good general feeling about the movie. But that's probably because after being dissapointed with all 5 previous ones I went into this one expecting it to be nothing like the book.

I don't really see any reason to take out the huge battle scene. That would have been a great climax to the movie.

I mean, at the beginning of the movie they are showing all the security guys walking around and how safe the place is, then those 4 death eaters just appear and walk around and do as they please and there is no one around to even try and stop them. What was even the point of all of them being there?

That scene could have made up for what I thought was a pretty boring flick filled with awkward sexual tension and silly laughs. What the hell was with the cornfield scene and burning down the burrow? I'm all about making your own interpretation of the book, but I just really think they missed a big one here. The epic battle was amazing in the book and completely none existent in the movie.

Just thought about another scene I really wanted to see, The Christmas Scene with Rufus and Percy come to visit the Weasley Family...

I was kind of Glad Fleur was not in the movie, but would have enjoyed seeing Bill in the Hospital. I guess the Future film's will not have Fleur and Bill's wedding where Harry visits and then takes off...so wassup with that?

I still enjoyed the movie for what it was, but I def would have liked to have seen some of the rather important scenes that I feel come to make the last Book whole.

I would totally digg an extra 20-30 mins on the Directors cut DVD...

Yeah they've cut out a lot of the side stories throughout the series. Dolby has been basically removed from the movie, guess no house elf revolution, haha. And yeah I'm guessing they'll just show Harry at the wedding if they decide to show in the next one without any of the development.

I wish they had included the whole quiddich victory where Harry and Ginny first display their affections in front of Ron. I didn't like them just saying "Ron figured it out".

haven't read any of the books. i enjoyed it but didn't feel like there was much of an ending/climax... i guess i just expected more of a payoff for sitting through a 2.5 hour movie
