It's no surprise that some people are ridiculously good online. Some of them are kids who play from the time they get out of school until they go to bed. Ask a casual Halo player how well he does online. And in a field of 12 players 2nd place is pretty damn good considering how a spiny can change the lineup instantly.

^^every once in a while I'm playing against someone from Japan with a ranking in the 8000 range and he usually smokes everyone (gets a huge lead early).

But usually its just people with a 5000-6500 rating in which case I'd say I win over 50% of the time. My ranking right now is around 6100.

*the exception being the simple oval tracks. Ain't shit you can do on those tracks, its all up the items. Plus I usually don't pick a cart built only for top end.

How are these people not getting fucked that are in the lead though? I get in the lead and get hit by like eight things in a row...do any of these short cuts really make a difference? What cars or bikes are you guys using?

^^ well if you manage to clear the rifraff by a good margin, even a red shell won't get to you. You still get hit by lightning and pows and shit, but the whole track gets the same slap. The margin stays the same. Only thing would be a string of blue shells, which I only seem to get in single player.

By the way, I'll be drunk karting tonight around 8pm if you guys wanna get together.
