a lot of the boss fights from the hunts in that game were stupid hard - that fucking invisible giant chocobo pissed me off so bad

i just didn't find that game rewarding at all - i know i finished most of the hunts

i hope the next final fantasy is more fun

Anyone who said Sephiroth is crazy. You obviously didn't max your characters. I smoked him. Ruby Weapon was fun and then in FF12, there was a boss (forgot his name) with ~50 mil HP.

takes forever to kill with a shotgun, he RUNS at you, and he comes out of nowhere--when you get within 100 ft or so, he starts up the chainsaw around some corner out of sight.


i still jump irl whenever i hear a chainsaw or a dirtbike revving up.

Was impossible for me as a kid, my friends and I would just keep hitting each other with lightning accidentally so we'd get killed while we were frozen. I was never able to beat it until my gf helped me recently, she is the master of bubble bobble.

but Miguel in Chrono Chross in the Dead sea

its kinda like after Aeris was killed in FF7 and the fight with jenova (which btw was an awesome boss battle in itself)wasnt the normal boss music it was the Aeris "theme" very limited production, soft music for an intense bossfight

^^its got a great story loosely tied and consistent with the events of trigger

the gameplay and battles are fun as shit, and it has some fun characters

i like it, its not terribly difficult but at the sametime to make the battles "easy" requires planning

you should def pick it up, or i can give you the first disc when i finish with it

i keep hearing all this MGS1 and FFVII stuff but what about MDSAII and DMW1 and 2?

Even SVVX was better than MGS and the ALO in RFXW *(gold) was MIA in the AFS


and i never even made it to the end of fatal frame. i'm a huge wuss

I hadn't even read the first post yet when, immediately, the battle against the metal gear itself at the end of the first MGS for PS1 came to mind. A flood of others from different games and platforms thereafter, but that was the first. It wasn't even THAT difficult, but it was just so intimidating at the time. I remember getting nervous to the point of sweaty palms and deep breathing right before every attempt.

Everyone talks about The End being the hardest but apparently you can kill him earlier in the game. The first time I played him I put on my thermals looking for him and realized that you could see his footsteps on the ground through the goggles, I walked up right behind him with the shotgun and killed him in one shot lol.

I thought the Fury was much more fun of a boss fight.

^^I'm glad someone else didn't have a problem killing him. I remember thinking it was going to be an epic sniper battle, but then I found him sleeping on the ground somewhere like a drunk hobo.

This thread also stirs up memories of the MGS2 battle against the Metal Gear Rays. If I remember correctly the game makes you think you have to kill an absurd number of them (like 100 or something total), 2 or 3 at a time. I remember feeling overwhelmed until it broke into a cutscene after you killed a handful.

Never heard anybody mention this boss fight before but I remember it because that music was funny as shit when you cast freefall (or whatever it's called) on him

the soft music playing as he dropped through the atmosphere with re-entry flames was hilarious
