Jesus Christ TreeTwista10, did Nash rape your mother or something? Seems like you can't make a single post without expressing some bitterness about him being mvp TWO YEARS AGO.

And yeah, while I absolutely hated the Spurs fouling Shaq, it's obviously within the rules. Didn't make me any less pissed at Shaq for not making them. If I were him I would have lived at the free throw line in between each game, gotten a shooting instructor, ANYTHING. But he's too stubborn for that. Besides, apparently his thinking his he "makes them when it counts." Bullshit. Last I checked FTs counted the same throughout the entire game anyway

^^but how would you write the rule? just seems like an impossible rule to implement

^2 years ago, and 3 years ago...undeservedly...i just dont see whats so great about nash that supposedly puts him in the "best player in the NBA" discussion...he is a great shooter from any range and a great passer...but what else does he do? I personally have an issue with a player being named MVP when they only play like an MVP on offense...and the leader of that offense got eliminated by the spurs for the 3rd time in 4 years

Fucking dumbass Wizards should foul Ben Wallace every single time the Cavs get the ball until 2 minutes left.

He shoots 42 percent !!!

Cleveland would average less than 1 point per possession if Washington did this

They could easily have a 5-6 point lead when it got to two minutes if they did this

couldn't you eliminate hack-a-shack by calling such infractions as intentional fouls?

^No.

And let's quit talking about the Suns and Spurs....because I could go on for days.

How bout talking about how the Eastern Conference playoffs right now are better than the Western Conference (maybe not the level of play, but the games are more entertaining). The most entertaining series in the West is the one most people thought would suck/be-over-with-quickly (Jazz/Rockets). I'm cheering for the Rockets because I love T-Mac and want to see him get that first round playoff series win. But at the same time...I think Utah has a great shot at knocking off the Lakers...who I don't want to see win another championship.

Should be fun.

The Lakers are playing insanely good right now. Not only are their stars lighting it up, their ball movement is great, and the contributions from their role players is above that of the rest of the league. Plus their coach isn't half bad. I don't see anyone in the league beating them, championship here they come.

Usually I am one of those who say Phil only coaches great players to championships and such, but this year he has done a helluva job getting Kobe to play team ball. Oh that and they actually made a trade that was worth a damn unlike Phoenix.

Quote :
"But perhaps nothing better proved Stevenson's current standing in this city than a trip he took with four teammates to the Tower City Center, a downtown mall, on Tuesday night. The quintet--Stevenson, Arenas, Nick Young, Dominic McGuire and Andray Blatche--received plenty of team-related comments about the series, mostly along the lines of "you're going to lose." But the primary target all evening was Stevenson.

"Definitely," Dominic McGuire said.

"Of course," Andray Blatche agreed.

"There was no question," McGuire said. "Damn near everybody we walked by said something to him."

"I had five people trying to fight me," Stevenson said. "If I went to the mall by myself, I probably would have gotten jumped."

It's a claim, we must say, that seems somewhat overblown, if not overrated, but still, he clearly attracted more than his fair share of attention. What did the Clevelanders say?

"What didn't they say," Stevenson said.

"Did you hear the Jay-Z diss?" Gilbert Arenas offered as one example of an anti-Stevenson taunt. "You suck," he said, coming up with another. "You know, fan stuff."

The highlight, Stevenson's teammates said, came when they walked past a hat store and were spotted by an employee.

"I know somewhere y'all haven't been," the friendly Midwesterner said.

"We were like, 'where?' "Arenas related.

"The second round," came the answer."

sometimes things just don't make sense...

Songaila gets suspended for a slap after a foul, yet when Garnett and Pechulia go at it, nothin happens. When Jason Kidd pulls down Pargo by the neck, no suspension... Its like the penelties are different for the "stars."

Who would have thought Boston/ATL would be the last series left?

That could be our Bobcats out there...

no it couldn't.

Celtics would have beaten the bobcats by about 40 a game.

...in the 3 games that Boston would've won...it would be 3-3...or did you forget which of the other 29 NBA teams gave Boston their biggest home loss all season?

Why couldn't it be our Bobcats out there?

I'm aware that the bobcats played the Celtics tough all year. But I don't think they'd be able to do what the hawks have done. The hawks are very very very athletic with a better pg than the bobcats have (yes, bibby is better than felton.....at least a completely different player). Maybe the bobcats match up well, but it would have to be a different strategy and I'm just not convinced it works in the playoffs.

go atl

Alright after watching the first 2 games of this series I think the Hornets are real and might be the best team in the West. Chris Paul is the best PG in the league.

Just makes you sick to think that the Bobcats should have gotten him instead of Felton if the lottery works out.

I guess that guy Tracy McGrady sucks too right?

Nash played good, it was the rest of the team that let the Suns down.

McGrady does kind of suck

if he didn't maybe he could lead a team out of the 1st round for once in his career

if I had T-Mac's athleticism and skill, I'd work harder than he does, I can tell you that much

You don't even have to play the bad luck card.

If we take Portlands deal for the #3 and #13 we have paul instead of may&felton.

^exactly. i've been a fan of garnett for quite some time, and it'd be nice to see him win a title finally. but yeah, i definitely don't want boston fans to win anything else. they don't deserve it.

hey anybody see the beginning of the game? i turned it on a few minutes into the first quarter and the arena looked really smoky. anybody see what happened? just pregame pyrotechnics? another new orleans incident?

I'm just glad to see that the Cavs are actually putting up a fight. I was a little worried that Boston would just come out and dominate in this series...but if tonight's any sign, we could be in for a good series.

I can't believe some of these travelling calls. Some are, by the letter of the rules, NOT a travel because the original pivot foot does NOT make contact after it's been picked up.

the west seems a bit overrated, it sucks that houston lost yao that would have really made things interesting, besides that the spurs look like their time has passed, steve kerr ruined the suns team with that dumbass trade, and dallas just didn't have it this year

it is kind of funny that with the exception of Game 1 of the PHO SA series, the most interesting series of the playoffs so far was the BOS ATL series which most people thought would be a sweep

^^having marion (who didnt want to be in Phoenix) instead of shaq would not have made them beat the spurs and they damn sure wouldnt have beaten any of the teams in the west left.

The real mistake the Suns made was letting joe johnson go a few years back.

They didn't let Joe Johnson go. He wanted to be "the man" (and get paid like "the man") and could never do it on a team with three all-stars.
