I think it shouldn't be called offsides. why? the guy was there, end of story.
whether he was off the pitch on the end line or not is no matter. If you say it does matter then you're opening up a whole new potential strategy for using the end lines to catch people offsides.

All defenders have to do is float back near the goal then just step off the field then the attackers would have to sprint back to get onsides and even if they get the ball all the defenders have to do is come back on the field and they'd be facing the ball.

no way you can allow that so you must allow that goal as well.

that goal shouldve been scored on the 1v1 then im not even sure what happened after the save..how that guy reflex volleyed the ball straight up and over everyone and then the deflections on the goal line...hilarious stuff

So I've been trying to keep up and watching at least one match a day (work and other things prevent more). Sadly, I picked the Greece/Sweden game to DVR today.

I know I don't know much about soccer yet -- I'm watching and reading on it -- but Greece was damn near UNWATCHABLE.

I'm not one of those guys who says you need 14 goals a game to make it interesting; I thoroughly enjoyed the 0-0 US/Argentina game and found it incredibly exciting at times. But goddamn Greece, DO SOMETHING WITH THE BALL.

wow woeful defending by portugal on that corner and sionko levels the game at 1-1 with a diving header. i picked portugal to win it all because of their fluid style of play on offense...but i was a bit worried about their defending, and this doesnt bode well for my pick
