I can't say the appeal was totally unjustified, but the referee was well within his right to red card him in that situation. I can't say I agree with the decision to reduce it (there's no way it wasn't at least a yellow).

This is kinda half soccer related, but could AIG's struggle cause any financial problams for united. AIG has to be giving united a lot of money to be the major shirt sponsor.

i don't think aig's strugges will have much of an effect on man utd, if AIG cant pay to be on man utds jerseys then theyd probably get a different sponsor.

Oh I am sorry you root for a team that has more bandwagoneers than Chelsea, Arsenal, the New York Yankees and Red Sox combined. Who cares why I root for Chelsea, first you don't know me from Stephen you jackass. Nice dirty game Manure played Sunday, how many of your players were booked, 7 was it.

A bit sour about choking up last season are you?

and FYI no fucking team on the planet has more bandwagon fans than the Yankees, so let's call a spade a spade.

until you can prove to me that you or someone in your family's ever tossed celery on the pitch at the Bridge, i'll call you bandwagon as much as I like, so don't sit there and try to tell me the fucking score.

If anyone gets a chance to catch the FanZone of the Chelsea v. Man U game, the opening scene is of a kid wearing an NC State Football t-shirt.

lol arsenal, this is why teams with experienced players win

25 shots, only 4 on goal

and when did hull pick up cousin from rangers??

Quote :
"While Wenger's Carling Cup youngsters showed no fear, the current first team were guilty of the same traits that have caused Arsenal problems in recent seasons, plenty of passing and attacking without always scoring."

so I finally got around to watching last week's review show that I DVR'ed

that Ronaldo penalty call was absolute horseshit

Yes it was. But I'm not even sure that Ronaldo tried to sell it that way very hard. I think the referee just made a terrible call. The defender obviously had the ball first.

^^ yeah for once, I don't think Ronaldo tried to influence the decision with a dive

that's why the call was so bad

it is pointless. the top teams in the world shouldnt be forced to play the cubas, kazakhstans, andorras, san marinos, etc of the world.

it wasn't that long ago the US was one of those countries that never made the world cup. everybody deserves an equal shot, no matter how annoying it is to watch sometimes

yeah, wc qualifiers are not pointless. i love club football as much as anyone else, but I would watch England win the WC over Man U winning the treble, presented the choice

yeah i would watch england win the WC, that would be great, not over man utd win the treble though...

but id much rather watch man utd play fulham, rather than watch england play andorra

i never said i wouldnt watch the wc, its the greatest tournament in football history...but the hell if im watching wc qualifiers, its pointless, it gets many star players injured, it disrupts the flow of club leagues, and the majority of matches are boring. why would i want to watch a tiny team pack the box with 10 men behind the ball the whole game whether they are home or away...no fun.

WC qualifiers are the fairest way for those smaller teams to get in to the WC to begin with.

Sure, it sucks seeing Portugal hang 7 on Kazahkstan, but what about Iraq beating Australia, or Paraguay over Brazil?

Or even teams like Austria who normally would just miss the mark getting one over on France and having a better chance at making the finals?

or Bulgaria in the 94 WCQ... they beat France in the last qualifier with a last minute goal when all France needed was a draw to qualify

and then ended up making it to the semifinals
