I would say almost all of the shows on television are like that now

^^the only other weekly show i watch is the hills, other than that its CNBC, footbal, futbol and maybe real world/road rules
it seems like they are trying to expand the breadth of the show and we just have to sit here memorizing a bunch of events until they start to finally come together its just seems so silly right now, i just dont care what happens, all the structure of the past seasons seem to have been thrown out
hiro is no longer 100% honorable, as is mohinder
but its all good, there is still a lot to enjoy i guess, we'll see how it comes together in the end 10/2/2008 12:44:26 AM |

I guess I was just expecting them to move beyond the someone loses control and it causes a catastrophe plot line. In retrospect, it is interesting that a reformed Sylar is the one to lose it.

Thought this was the best episode so far this season (its only been 3). I like the way they built up and then left a good few questions.
But was that a good bye to Micah scene? It seemed like they were saying goodbye...I like Micah's character...
The watch thing with Sylar and Peter was good. I thought it made sense...in a mystical/riddle type of way. I am not one to enjoy having every idea spoon fed for me...I like to keep an imagination and have things to discuss and argue about (within reason).
Hey...wasn't Nathan married with 2 kids, and his wife was starting to walk at end of season 1. I have an imagination, but I think I miss some key facts on that whole issue. Did they die, and I forgot?
Was Noah dead in the future?

I missed the "goodbye to Micah" part that is being talked about.
As far as Nathan's family... didn't they say 'peace out' to them in season 2? There was some restraining order or something when he tried to talk to his kids.
She was like "You almost died and I can't handle that." then served him his papers. 10/6/2008 10:30:28 PM |

Yeah there was a part when he went to go see his kids at their school. He still had that beard. They didn't say much about it though.
Quote : | "yea sylar is the man, when his kid was killed i knew shit was about to hit the fan..." |
Haha yeah, the second that happened and he kind of looked up at the fear dude, I thought to myself "He is not the type of guy that you wanna piss off".
So any theories on what would cause the world to blow up this time? Obviously Sylar is out of the picture so it isn't him. And I'm really liking the way that they are making Peter into a villain.

Oh ok...I must've just forgot about the peace out deal with Nathan's wife. I would think they would keep "the kid angle around." They would have some powers I would assume. Maybe that will be future seasons if they make it that far.
Yeah, I doubt future Sylar is one they would like piss off or bother in such a fashion.

My understanding from the interviews is that she's not long for this series, but those may well be inaccurate. Presumably they wouldn't let anything too telling about her future slip during public discussions like that.
Quote : | "I guess I was just expecting them to move beyond the someone loses control and it causes a catastrophe plot line." |
Given that the explosion happens in the future, I'm not sure that it's critical to the plotline. That is, I don't think that's the event that sets in motion the destruction of Earth, and I don't think the characters are all going to be rushing to stop Sylar exploding like they did in season 1.
I did think it was a nice way to bring things around full circle, where now Peter is (apparently) the asshole and Sylar is trying to be a nice guy, and once again the nice guy is the one that ends up exploding.
It was obvious he was coming back from Angela's dream, but it was funny nonetheless that Hiro was the one that had to dig him up. I'm very curious as to what role he plays in stopping the catastrophic events to come, though. He never wanted to destroy humanity, just a huge chunk of it so that the survivors would be good. But what does he have to do with the formula?
Quote : | "I DID just think of a lame point of the show though...
Step 1: Fix Watch Step 2: Step 3: Sylar's Power!" |
Not really that lame if you think back to Season 1 and Peter's difficulty figuring out his powers. He needed help (from Claude) to figure out how to operate them, so it's reasonable that he would need Sylar's help to figure out his unique and less-than-obvious ability.
Quote : | "So any theories on what would cause the world to blow up this time? Obviously Sylar is out of the picture so it isn't him." |
Ummmm what? Sylar has Claire's power. Going nuclear didn't kill Peter, I don't see why it would kill Sylar.
That said, I don't have any particular reason to believe that he causes the Earth to blow up. They made a reference to somebody causing an Earthquake in Sydney (it was a newspaper headline)...maybe that power used by multiple people, or one particularly skilled person, would do it. Or who knows.
Quote : | "I thought it was pretty cool that Sylar's kid's name was Noah. and yeah Nathan's wife peaced out when he almost died and had alcohol problems and shit." |
1) It's definitely starting to look like Noah Bennet is the one that "saves" Sylar and teaches him how to control himself, which would go a long way towards explaining why Claire went crazy and Sylar went good. 2) Several people in this thread have associated Nathan's earlier mental problems with him almost dying, but I think it had far more to do with him thinking that Peter had died, as evidenced in the second season, and which I think may turn out to be relevant.
Quote : | "o who do you guys think the surprise dude is that Angela Petrelli" |
I've got big money says it's Papa Petrelli. He's one of the key "older generation" characters that hasn't been introduced, and he's one of the ones that Angela Petrelli would be most surprised by.10/7/2008 1:51:43 AM |

I think he has to understand abilities to learn how to take them away from people? I don't know either, but FuPeter told PrePeter he had to gain that ability from Sylar
I really liked how Peter was losing control and wanted to take FuNathan's power, very cool
