I'm trying to convince leftyisreal to come to Raleigh for the weekend and I don't think he wants to drive from Norfolk Friday night and then be in the car again to Charlotte the next day. I dunno.

there are two harris teeters (3 mins), a Lowes Food(5 mins), and a Food Dog(5 mins) around our house. So you don't have to get your food until you get here.

well, our backyard isn't exactly big enough for a ultimate field, but we got enough room to toss a disc around a bit

Oh snap. The Wolfpack Invitational is this weekend. That means the IM fields will be full of ultimate.

Now I'm torn.

I think it's a little different for me when Lefty and I both played for these teams in the past. Also, official college team games are a lot more fun to watch than just a group of friends playing on a field. The men's games are intense.

better athletes, better coaching, more practice time together. just like the difference between any rec league and college team.

btw, I'll be in Charlotte this weekend, but not for this BBQ...I know you guys want me there.

LINT LICKER!!!

I never understood that... being believers in god.... they should think god knows their true intent
and its not like English was around when the bible was written so.... our current swear words weren't even words yet... so.... how is substituting a word when everyone knows your intent not swearing??

I can't wait to make goodies for this

Dunno what I'm making yet, but rest assured, fatties will be bringing tasties! Oh, and I'll bring hummus, too. And homemade bread.

Also, it looks like Z and I will be leaving around 3 or 4. I'm hoping closer to 3 We have room for one more; we'll initially be out towards the airport, and then swinging by campus (and maybe Garner) before hitting the interstate.

Hrm... I should make something but I'm not quite sure what.

Do you (mainly meaning punchmonk and qntmfred) like tzatziki? Yogurt-cucumber-mint-garlic dip? It's teh yumz, IMO, but I'm not sure if most folks like it.

I think I like it. Let me ask my sister and see if I had it before.

She went crazy and bought all kinds of stuff from the Arab market in San Antonio one afternoon. It was delicious crazy.

Good to know! I have greek yogurt here, so I may throw some together. Just need to get mint and cucumbers.

^^If you've had a gyro, you've probably had a thinner version of tzatziki. My dad makes a thicker version that's a bit chunkier and great as a dip, so that's more of what I'm used to.

OH YEA

I love gyros! It burns me when the random white kid at the Mediterranean cafe on Hillsborough murders the pronounciation.

Then yes, I HOLY HELL YES love tzatziki.

So I just realized I have a half-pint container of my dad's yogurt dip in the fridge I brought up after Fall Break. I'm sort of tempted to bring that instead of making some, but now that I have folks saying OMGTATZIKI, maybe I need to make a bigger batch. But in general, my dad's arabic food > my arabic food.
