I just got back from getting gas at Sam's Club on S. Saunders. It's $3.58 there now. All the gas stations were packed, but prices weren't much different than they were before.

One place on S. Saunders was like $4.69, it was the only one I saw that high - yet it was still packed.

It was $3.79 at the Exxon on Lake Wheeler and Centennial. look for places that are more out of the way, they're usually more expensive but now they may be cheaper

yeah i went through a few small towns around greensboro and there were some small mom and pop places that were still cheap and a few others but i was on the way to get a haircut and couldn't stop.. most of them were out of gas when I went back through so I just stopped at the first one that wasn't that busy since at most it was gonna cost me maybe $5 extra. It wasn't worth my time to keep driving around trying to find it cheaper/waiting in line

..although at some asheboro and liberty stations the cops are directing traffic (mainly places that still have it at the original prices)

hey idiots, if you don't NEED gas, don't buy it. You're only fucking everyone over.

back when i was stupid about energy (katrina) I filled up and brought extra tanks. I look back at that moment in shame. Wont do that again. I did fill up last night, but thats because I had less than a gallon left. I had plans to go to wilmington this weekend, and I think Im going to be a reponsible consumer and just stay at home as that is gas that doesnt need to be wasted.

Damn...I considered going there, but I was like
"Eh, I don't have a large tank. It's either going to
- be a zoo because it's cheap
- be a zoo because people think it's cheap
I need to get back to work...I'll get gas here"

...here being Exxon at Ileagnes.

"so I just stopped at the first one that wasn't that busy since at most it was gonna cost me maybe $5 extra. It wasn't worth my time to keep driving around trying to find it cheaper/waiting in line"

I did the math, and it cost me a whopping $3 more, and I saved at least twenty minutes, I'm guessing. Given that I was off work where I make $10/hr...
Quote :
"ook for places that are more out of the way, they're usually more expensive but now they may be cheaper "

And people drive past them out of habit.

Thank you
It's good to see sentiments like that.

Currently $3.95/$3.99 at Hillsborough & Faircloth/Gorman. Busy, but no long lines. The crown at Western & Kent/Method, on the other hand, is at $4.89. And people are still filling up like it ain't no thing...I wonder if they realize they could save almost $1/gallon by driving a mile or so to the east.

hess @ trawick is still 3.65 - it's a mad house though

i filled my spare gas can a few minutes ago, and skipped prolly 30 ppl who were waiting in line
they were shooting lazers out their eyes at me lol
it's not my fault i am smart enough to park in a different parking lot and walk over to the pump with a jerry can.

so gas goes from ~$150 a barrel to ~$100 a barrel and the price goes from $4.00 to $3.60.

This hurricane comes along and gas goes to +$5.00?

Right...

^it makes perfect sense if you realize that the price of a barrel of oil on the worldwide market has nothing to do with our possible gasoline shortage caused by refinery shutdowns

hahahaha.. i think the most i ever filled up in one stop was at this place near home that doesn't have a limit per credit card transaction like the usual 50 or 75 dollar bs.. I filled up an old suburban, buddies F150, and both tanks on my boat.. it was around $400 back when gas was a good 1.50 cheaper if not more

the hess down from bojangles has regular priced at 3.69 but has bags over the pumps. Crown across western from subway is 4.89 for regular, mid-grade is like 4.11 at the station beside subway. $3.99 at the shell station near blue ridge/hillsbrough street with a 10 gallon limit, and 4.09 at the station at edwards mill and trinity

The station I went to this morning had signs on the pumps asking folks to limit their purchases to 10 gallons.

With a motorcycle I am not as worried about the price as much as the availability. It's when places simply bag the pumps that I get concerned.

I read this tread and I did my part. I hurried to the nearest gas station while it was still $3.609/g and just started pumping it out all over the street.
