enlist them in the marines, they'll learn some discipline during a nice 4 year TOD in Iraq/Afghanistan, and maybe come out of it decent citizens. There's no place for that kind of crap in schools.

I used to hang out with Millbrook people before I got my license (cuz I lived near millbrook). It was like every party fights breaking out left and right.

At Southeast everyone was way more laid back.

Millbrook sucks. it's a rednecky/ghetto school where everyone fights at parties, steals kegs, gets liquor drunk and pulls out guns. Every Millbrook party I've ever been to was like that.

Sanderson is the chillest school in the county.

hahaha...sounds like you hung out w/ the wrong crowd from Millbrook....I only saw guns come out at one party....granted every other get together typically ended in someone fighting or some piece of property disappearing from the host house....that doesnt make us all redneck/ghetto, and the Sanderson thing is a joke b/c I knew guys back when I was in HS from Sanderson that did/sold more coke then most college kids have ever seen

^^ i only saw a gun at one party also to be fair but I heard of alot more. I graduated in 05 and I know when I was a freshmen there was some big gang battle at millbrook exchange and alot of people had guns and vests.

true, the rich kids at sanderson definitely bought/sold alot of coke. pretty much everyone smoked pot or were really tight with people who did

Are you one of those idiots that actually thinks that there are different types of alcohol intoxication son?

Alcohol is alcohol son. The only difference is the concentration and the taste of the beverage (Which isn't really due to the alcohol itself son).

Not that Im defending the "liqour drunk" idea but chemical reaction kinetics are fuctions of concentration and time. the effects could be different for the comsumption of beer vs. liqour.

i dont know man.. not much of a mystery to most folks...

back when i was in grade school, there was a kid, last name green or something. got shot by a stray bullet i think at millbrook exchange park. i think he went to millbrook too. not sure whatever happened. ive tried to search for it, but i think that may be a bigger mystery. not sure

yea bryan green, i remember that well...i too have searched for it occasionally, to no avail though

if my memory serves me correct, a fight spilled over into millbrook exchange after school and a person initially uninvolved opened fire

"Sorry Bridget. It's not crack hysteria from watching the news. It's crack hatering as a result of seeing the effects first hand.

I agree that meth is just as hard on the body (if not worse), but I don't know that the impact to our communities is the same. Maybe it's the result of meth being a rural drug that people just don't pay as much attention, but I highly suspect that meth has not done anywhere near the amount of damage that crack was doing in the 80's. A lot of urban areas declined so much when crack hit that they provided barely better living conditions than those afforded to people in 3rd world countries. That is visible. That is something you can plaster on the news and get people's attention. The US Government had a responsibility to do something. Right or wrong, the war on drugs was their answer.

Meth is entirely different just because of the nature of production. The government can make ephedrine/pseudoephedrine more difficult to purchase in quantity. They didn't have that option with crack. Cocaine was already illegal and putting a ban on baking soda was not an option.

It will be interesting to see how it changes now that less meth is being produced at home and more is being produced by criminal cartels in Mexico. I have a feeling it will still be treated more like cocaine than crack as long as it's usage does not have another sharp spike in popularity.

I know sentencing for crack is much stricter than cocaine, but to be honest I have no idea how sentencing for meth is done. I have a feeling sentencing for meth production/trafficking is very harsh. Are you telling me that sentencing is less strict with meth than it is with crack? If so, what is your source?
"

Meth absolutely decimated many rural and suburban areas of the southeast, northwest and mid-west. And the effects of meth on the general population are insanely worse than crack cocaine.

Meth houses are incredibly dangerous, toxic, and expensive to clean up. Much like crack cocaine, meth permanently destroys the body, leading people into a never-ending cycle of dependency and downward spiral. I suspect a couple of reasons it didn't get into the mainstream like the crack epidemic did

#1) There was no real correlation of users to a stereotype. With crack, it was essentially just the urban poor (mostly black) in a few large cities. Makes for very good, clean, simple reporting and imagery. With meth, it hit LOTS of small communities, medium cities, and cut across lines of race, class and creed.

The media reports what is easy to package, not what is most newsworthy.

#2) The crack epidemic occurred in overwhelmingly liberal, democratic cities. The meth epidemic occurred in overwhelmingly conservative, republican regions. Liberals cry and whine about how life is unfair and people need help. Conservatives just clean up the mess themselves and move on.

that is such horse shit. I bet those gangsters are excited about serving their 6months b.c it will help boost their street cred when they get out. The judge almost rewarded these thugs. So for 6months they will have free food, rent, and get some "education" from their hoodlum buddies in jail.

Fuck You "Justice" Department!

From what I can tell, this was an 3-on-1 assault, not a fair fight. I don't care what, if anything, that kid might have done to deserve a beating. If you give these kids, these animals who smile in their mugshots, a slap on the wrist you merely encourage the behavior. On top of that, you leave this kid's family starved for justice. Sooner or later, someone will take that call for justice into their own hands.
