Well, as long as you say so. It must be true.

UT is gonna give Davis a blank check (If they have a brain in their heads).

^^ I agree.

He may leave in the future, but Im sure it will be after a few years of the program plateauing and possibly declining, or some negative press, etc. For example, someone fucking up, NCAA violations, etc.

He is riding a wave right now. He surly wont give that up until the wave is over. Im sure Davis can clearly see BCS bowls in UNC's immediate future. Why would he skip town before he has the opportunity to cash in on them?

Rebuilding an NFL team is much more lucrative than staying at the College level.

Hell if anything coaching in the NFL is a resume booster. I can understand a coach leaving for the NFL.

BD is a good implication that rebuilding an NFL team also takes more than coralling talent

Colin Cowherd mentioned on his radio program today that Bitch is UT's #1 choice. Cowherd said that Bitch would be better off staying with the tarholes though mainly because the ACC is shit and the SEC is beast. He also said Crapel Hill is one of the nicest towns in the US.

i see no reason in the world those demands won't be met. i think he really wants to stay, but the BOT and baddour need to quit dragging their feet and give him whatever the fuck he wants

Davis knows his name has the potential to be on the addition to Kenan Stadium.

Of course UNC will likely have to give him a raise, but after the success this season I dont think its unreasonable. In that statement from the article he obviously wants to further the program. Baddour does need to stop dragging his feet.

Football has potential to raise some serious money as Kenan holds something like 70K people. Season tickets could see a small increase

I feel sorry for UNC. All those poor, newly-converted bandwagon basketball fans who are getting into football now won't have anyone else to watch. Also their 09 class will mostly jump ship...

Can't blame butch though. Real football school. REAL FOOTBALL FANS (not fake-ass ESPN nation fans who like wearing fhaggut blue)

^^^^ Agreed. Davis is grossly underpaid and this shit won't stop until he gets a more fitting contract. He wants to stay at UNC but Baddour and the Board must be willing to throw some money his way.

Why is everyone convinced Butch is such a great coach and that he'll certainly lead UNC to the promised land?

Everyone is all on their shit because of this year, even though they have the easiest schedule in the ACC.

Lets also disregard last season when UNC had 50 people on the field who had never taken a college snap, and still managed to lose 6 of 8 games by a touchdown or less.

Amato did that with a joke of an offensive line (sure it was his fault, but still). You trying to tell me he's a good coach?

A great recruiter does not a great coach make.

I don't think that's the question.

The question is why does everyone think that Butch wants to stay at UNC??? Its an honest question?? Are there reports that he just loves Chapel Hill so much?? Does he have young kids in wonderful school system? What is at UNC that he can't get in Knoxville?? Because it won't be the football that keeps him in Chapel Hill.

if he wants to do anything in football he will have to do what Brown did...and leave...ACC is crap in football, it will be a very very long time until the ACC has a national championship contender.

The ACC will be a very competitive conference if the SEC keeps recycling coaches, among other conferences who manage to sneak in to the top 10.

He does actually. His son is in 9th or 10th grade in the Chapel Hill school system and is on his school's football team. Could be a factor.

Ummm, pretty sure Kenan only holds 60,000. Thats the same as CF. I'm still pissed CF didn't exceed that number when they expanded. Way to raise the bar

UNC has sold out tickets to every game in both seasons in the preseason while Davis has been there.
