^^ I agree.
He may leave in the future, but Im sure it will be after a few years of the program plateauing and possibly declining, or some negative press, etc. For example, someone fucking up, NCAA violations, etc.
He is riding a wave right now. He surly wont give that up until the wave is over. Im sure Davis can clearly see BCS bowls in UNC's immediate future. Why would he skip town before he has the opportunity to cash in on them? 11/10/2008 11:52:10 AM |

Rebuilding an NFL team is much more lucrative than staying at the College level.
Hell if anything coaching in the NFL is a resume booster. I can understand a coach leaving for the NFL. 11/10/2008 12:50:13 PM |

i see no reason in the world those demands won't be met. i think he really wants to stay, but the BOT and baddour need to quit dragging their feet and give him whatever the fuck he wants11/10/2008 7:18:41 PM |

Davis knows his name has the potential to be on the addition to Kenan Stadium.
Of course UNC will likely have to give him a raise, but after the success this season I dont think its unreasonable. In that statement from the article he obviously wants to further the program. Baddour does need to stop dragging his feet.
Football has potential to raise some serious money as Kenan holds something like 70K people. Season tickets could see a small increase 11/10/2008 7:37:04 PM |

I feel sorry for UNC. All those poor, newly-converted bandwagon basketball fans who are getting into football now won't have anyone else to watch. Also their 09 class will mostly jump ship...

^^^^ Agreed. Davis is grossly underpaid and this shit won't stop until he gets a more fitting contract. He wants to stay at UNC but Baddour and the Board must be willing to throw some money his way.

I don't think that's the question.
The question is why does everyone think that Butch wants to stay at UNC??? Its an honest question?? Are there reports that he just loves Chapel Hill so much?? Does he have young kids in wonderful school system? What is at UNC that he can't get in Knoxville?? Because it won't be the football that keeps him in Chapel Hill.11/10/2008 9:30:48 PM |

if he wants to do anything in football he will have to do what Brown did...and leave...ACC is crap in football, it will be a very very long time until the ACC has a national championship contender. 11/10/2008 10:03:16 PM |

He does actually. His son is in 9th or 10th grade in the Chapel Hill school system and is on his school's football team. Could be a factor.
