he threw pretty well in relief, i dunno why they don't just keep him there. maybe it was a fluke that he was good, but there's definitely different things that go into being a reliever that just work better for somebody, and i know he was fine for a few years as a starter but...might as well keep him in the pen for now.

Well he was more than fine. He was one of the better starters in the game in 2006-2007. He won 19 games each year with a 3.70 ERA or below each year. He finished second in the Cy Young voting in 07. That's part of what makes this so frustrating. He used to be SO good and SO reliable.

Then he hurt himself last year and hasn't been the same since. Hughes was at least serviceable in that slot. Better than 0-6 and an 11.20 ERA.

Went to the first game of the doubleheader yesterday with my brother.

The new stadium is fantastic. The old stadium is so sad across the street, with weeds growing where the field was.

Good game, too! CC strikes out 10, rally in the bottom of the eighth, Mo to save it in the ninth. Good times.
