I thought a major plot hole in this was not installing a kill bit in Marcus in case he revolted.

The part where the mechanical snakes jumped out of the water and attacked the helicopter had my girlfriend rolling for like 20 minutes.

OTHER THOUGHTS:

Common's character defines token black guy. Seriously he was useless, he did absolutely nothing and was a waste of money and screentime.

Bryce Dallas Howard's character was almost as underdeveloped and useless as Common's.

No what was funny was that Common's brother was Terry Crews, and he was in the movie for literally 5 seconds. Why get someone like Crews as opposed to some extra, haha, that had me and a friend laughing.

I definitely do not shit on every mainstream movie, douchebag. I shit on shitty movies such as Terminator Salvation. Star Trek is great, and the best thing out by far(at my theater anyway), and it's about as mainstream as you can get. The difference is Star Trek had competent writers. Terminator had the people that wrote Catwoman. I'm sorry I can't enjoy a movie purely because of robot motorcycle chases and such.

Anyway, I've made one post after I'd seen the movie which talked about the token black guy and the useless John Connor love interest, what the fuck are you even talking about. You're right, i'm totally giving this movie hell, omg (I should be, but it's all been said). My other posts in this thread were comments on others shitting on the movie.

I haven't even discussed any movies on tww in forever, lol.

I'll second that. Cliche mute character was useless as well, her only saving grace was that she didn't miraculously decide to speak at the end, which i was definitely prepared for.

also... 'hot chick' in move not that hot, had no real reason to care about her or any of the minor characters, and it seemed like she basically removed clothing in every scene that led up to the final one. usually i'm cool with that, but meh...

the movie is about Kyle Reese. We needed more kyle reese. They tried to make it about marcus while clearly the actual plot says otherwise.

Everything before the snake in the lake scene was good, but everything after that which took place at skynet was far too predictable and cheezy. For this to have been a good movie, Connor should have died and the android should have taken over or something, because they had it set up for a great ending.

That was the original ending. And while it would have given meaning to Marcus's character it would have raised TONS of questions, in a bad way, as we've always understood that John Connor sent Reese and Ahnold back to save Sarah and John...

Also, if you remember, in T3 Arnie mentioned that he killed John Connor & Claire Dane's character was the one who sent him back in time. So, I'm wondering how they would have explained that. Otherwise, I really think Marcus = John Connor ending would have been great. It seems to me that McG & the producers reacted very poorly to internet spoilers that went around last year. When the original ending was leaked, which I don't even recall hearing about, they essentially change the entire course of how the sequels will play out instead of sticking to their guns. When leaks come out that Marcus is a terminator, they go ahead and include what was likely a major revelation in the script right into the trailer, spoiling it for anybody else that has the discipline to stay away from spoiler threads. Then, they put out a god-awful production cut that makes a $200M movie look like a rush job. Hopefully, for T5, they will realize the studios want to make as much cash as possible and will be looking for a PG-13 movie that runs 2 hours max. Not that that's what I'd like to see (I'd love a 2.5 hour R-rated version), but HOW was that not clarified during pre-production.

Marcus being a cyborg machine was alluded to in the opening teaser of the movie when he signs the cyberdine consent form.

After that I don't see how the "reveal" is supposed to be that huge of an event...

And the way they made the story....Marcus's only purpose is to save John Connor by swapping hearts...it would be kind of dumb to have him go on as the leader or become the new John Connor...

I think if you eliminated Marcus's character from the movie all together, then you could rightfully kill John Connor

what the FUCK was the point of the John Connor pregnant looking girlfriend.. did they ever explain that?

Kyle Reese's character seemed to be too much of a pussy to become the Reese we know in T1. Bale liked to yell with his beloved bat-voice a lot. A lot of symbolism in the movie that is reminiscent to the previous ones.. though when pussy pre-pubescent Reese says "come with me if you want to live" it definitely gets annoying.

someone please explain what I missed in T3, I remember it being so shitty that i probably dozed through it... though I do remember Arnold saying "talk to the hand" ugh

T3 Arnie killed John Connor, John's wife reprogrammed T3 Arnie, sent back to blow shit up in T3 and get them to the fall-out shelter. I realize Skynet sent back T1 Arnie, Connor sent back Kyle Reese, but unless they come out and say they are ignoring T3 all together, they're going to have to tie that loose end up.
