Can someone answer this for me. How can Mark Martin who is #13 in points, has 1 win, 3 poles, 1 top 5 and 4 top 10's have made $949,713. At the same time Joey Logano is #33 in points, has 0 wins, 0 poles, 0 top 5's, and 0 top 10's has made $1,138,378. How does that work?

on another note Tony Eury Jr finally won something. a hendrick fishing day with the bass pros and national gaurd. lets hope they can transfer this shit to the racing surface this weekend and keep the car clean and no mistakes on pit rd

^^ nascar purse money is so confusing only nascar knows how it's handled. The more contingency sponsor stickers you run, the more money you get. The better your car/team finished the previous year, the more money you get (especially top 10/12). The longer your team has been in the sport, where you are on what lap, how much tv time you get, and a number of other things factor into how the money is handed out. Penske cars run much fewer stickers and they almost always get less money than cars around them from teams that otherwise have similar circumstances in all other categories I mentioned earlier.

if they want to slow cars down in the corners, just stick them with 8" wide tires for those two races. Pair that up with the 14" ones they are trying to get done for regular tracks and you'll definitely be picking up cornering speed on the short/intermediate tracks and slowing them down on restrictor plate tracks. Hell, if you slow them down enough in the corners you could open up the plates even more.
