if sweetwater is relatively easy to find in the triangle please point me in the right directionill drive there tonight
6/4/2009 8:16:48 PM
I don't live there anymore so I have no idea. I just got the impression from the Sweetwater thread and the fact it's been in Greensboro for a while.
6/4/2009 8:20:13 PM
fat tire sucks
6/4/2009 8:20:30 PM
thats just, like, your opinion, man.
6/4/2009 8:24:07 PM
i concur. fat tire is hugely overrated.
6/4/2009 8:25:36 PM
I think it's most definitely worth 6.99The restaurants that stick it under their import menu and charge 7.50 for a 22 can burn in fucking hell though.
6/4/2009 8:30:48 PM
i would, and have, pay $7 for a 22 at a bar.
6/4/2009 8:31:51 PM
I did the $8 thing for all three served at the Saucer, once each, toward my fourth plate. No wonder I'm still renting.

6/4/2009 8:53:46 PM
anything Bells is a bit of a stretch imo, but i realize different beers are more enjoyable for different people. i'd rather get some Averys for 8.99.
6/4/2009 8:55:23 PM
6/4/2009 9:00:36 PM
i've had a bunch of their stuff. it's good, but for me, in the 9-10 dollar range, i'm going for Avery. i'm not knocking Bells' beer, as some of them are pretty good, but i'd go for something else. i just can't endorse their entire list.
6/4/2009 9:02:02 PM
6/4/2009 9:07:13 PM
yeah. i'll have to google founders' beers. i'm pretty sure i've had some of theirs, but none of them are coming to mind.

This just in: Sweetwater sighted at triangle HTs - can anyone confirm?
6/6/2009 9:13:56 PM
i thought the sweetwater stuff was common around here... i've been getting it at my local Krogers for a few weeks now.
6/6/2009 9:17:03 PM
You're in Raleigh?
6/6/2009 9:19:16 PM
dude, it's everywhere in Raleigh, has been for at least a month...Peace Street Market, Harris Teeter, College Beverage, pretty much anywhere with a decent beer selection has it now.[Edited on June 6, 2009 at 9:24 PM. Reason : .]
6/6/2009 9:23:43 PM
I went to 6 different Harris Teeters today and none of them had ever heard of Sweetwater
6/6/2009 9:27:10 PM
^which ones, I know for a fact that both Cameron Village and the one on Edwards Mill both have it. Of course if you're looking for a good beer selection you should have just gone to College Beverage or Peace Street Market
6/6/2009 9:29:34 PM
mark it down. i just had some amber ale.
6/6/2009 9:30:20 PM
Im not anywhere near downtown Raleigh, im in the 'burbsI went to 1 in Holly Springs, 1 in Apex, 4 in Cary, and 1 in Raleigh

I had a bottle of Sweetwater 420 the other night and I really enjoyed it
6/6/2009 9:42:52 PM
tried one last night at cody's. i liked it. tastes like amber bock, that being said you can prob just get those for cheaper.[Edited on June 6, 2009 at 10:30 PM. Reason : d]

I like how Sweetwater has hijacked this thread. I really like it. The only Fat Tire I tried that I liked was 1554. Mothership just doesn't do it for me.They have all kinds of Sweetwater at the new Harris Teeter at Tryon Village.I went down to Atlanta not too long ago and bought a shit ton of 420 and Happy Ending . . . came back to Raleigh and started seeing it everywhere.Oh well I'm glad its here and hey some of your money goes to helping out the Chattahoochee (perfect for faggy environmental people)oh yeah and i really like the blue. I generally hate fruity like beer but this has to be tried[Edited on June 6, 2009 at 11:00 PM. Reason : .]

I see why people were all "meh" about this beer. Here's my experience w/Fat Tire:1st beer: wow, this stuff is different, pretty good too. I sure would like to drink more of these2nd beer (a week or so later): hmm... so it's pretty much a biscuit in a bottle. I'll drink another one, provided someone else pays.3rd beer (probably another week later): well, fuck this beer, I'd rather drink a good beer while eating dough than do this again.

i had it randomly at Deep South Bar in April. i was pleasantly surprised and would get it again if there isn't anything else on tap that's decent.
7/20/2009 5:38:58 PM
and folks, nobody is claiming fat tire is OMFG BEST BEER EVAR... (ok maybe someone might claim that)it's something new around here... i discovered it because my dad lives in Fort Collins and I learned to like it... do i buy it every time i go to the sto or out? no. do I sometimes enjoy it? yes. is it satisfying that i knew about it before 90% of the rest of the people around here? yes.
7/29/2009 9:35:53 PM
I just got a sixer of Skinny Dip... TBD how it is

I just saw a 53' trailer leave Jackson street and go down Gorman. I think both Food Lion locations may be stocking it now.

Seems like everyone is carrying it here on the Outer Banks. I see the trucks doing deliveries every day it seems.
8/20/2009 10:21:34 AM
Fat Tire's not bad but anybody who makes a huge deal over it obviously is just starting to develop taste for beerBabby's first decent beer
