well ABC HD now looks bad because Disney is forcing all of their owned and operated affiliates (not independent of Disney affiliates) to carry this new channel called Live Well HD which seems to basically just be advertising in an effort to make like $2.

Carrying in HD is even further more retarded because in order for HD to look good you have to have a certain bitrate being sent out by the station. ABCs is now lower because they have to give enough to LWHD in order for it to be viewable. HD requires more than SD, obviously.

therefore, the quality is affected by that new channel. it's fucking stupid.

Yeah Chicago almost beat a slightly better than average Boston team. Without Pierce/Allen/Garnett healthy, they are definitely not an elite team. I would be very surprised if they beat Orlando.

Also keep in mind Atlanta also took Boston to 7 games last year in the first round. Then they started out this year on fire, and everyone was ready to crown them as a huge contender in the East... well you see how that worked out for them.

Rockets were solid tonight. And I do love Yao. Guy was a beast tonight. Hope he can keep it up. Lakers might have to start double teaming him the second he touches the ball.

I don't like Yao if for no other reason than his utter lack of tenacity. there is NO fucking reason a man of his height shouldn't be getting 14 boards a game. Barkley did that shit for almost his whole career and is a foot shorter.

Yao is great, I love his interviews..........."where amazing happens" hahaahaha

The Lakers didnt play well at all last night, yet they still had opportunities to win the game. Watch out for Kobe in Game 2. After the jazz beat the lakers, kobe went off for 38 in the next game.

lol @ kobe looking like a total dumbass last night when he ran to the ref and begged for lakers ball when the replay clearly showed he touched it, he's got to be the biggest ref bullshitter in the league

ok, i have to admit this is the first time i've heard people busting on yao's tenacity. the guy's entire game is based on height and hard work. you think a guy his height could hit jumpers and free throws w/out ridiculous hard work? he jsut isnt athletic enought to be a great rebounder and he actually has to work much harder to box out b/c of his high center of gravity. he has to carry that frame and weight up and down the court every night while the opposing teams throws multiple players at him that just push on the back of his knees, plus double/triple teams every time he touches the ball. yao may never be more than 20/10 guy, but it isnt b/c of trying.

barkley had a low center of gravity and great athleticism and strength. plenty of centers dont rebound like barkley, you cant knock yao by comparing him to one of the best rebounders of all time.

haha artest just gave kobe the "you're dead" motion of making a thumbs up fist and pulling your thumb-tip across your neck as in you're gonna get your neck sliced bitchboy, then artest got ejected...i bet at some point he was like "queens bridge motherfucker what!" but i dont think he shouldve gotten booted...he didnt do anything physical but kind of bump chests, which was quickly broken up, but the gesture did it...he was right by the ref though, maybe he was like "i'll fuckin murder your children nigga" or something that joey crawford deemed ejection-worthy

as they explained, he was saying that kobe hit him in his throat, that is why he kept putting his hands at his own throat

if they suspend him for that, it is total bullshit.

i dont think artest should get suspended, i think his ejection was more than enough and he didnt deserve it, but i guess somewhat warranted, simply given artest's past temper

i do think fisher should be suspended, if the refs want to be consistent throughout the playoffs...i think the basic idea the refs are trying to convey is that hard fouls are ok, if they're on shots, and in the spirit of basketball...but cheap elbows have nothing to do with gameplay, and since howard's suspension, i think they suspend fisher to keep it consistent

however if artest gets suspended than it's rigged for the lakers

Ron won't and Kobe won't imo

Alston and Fisher will imo

Not because Ron and Kobe are stars and Fisher and Alston aren't...but because the headslap and the hockey check were more egregious than the elbow to the upper chest and mean mugging that followed

No kidding. Another wasted year for chris paul. Not surprising that the former owner of the charlotte hornets makes terrible basketball decisions.
