How the mighty have fallen

No running game, soft defense, overrated QB......looks like a mess

I heard somebody on XM Sports Radio earlier tonight talking about how a Giants player had complained about having to work on a holiday...anybody know who the player was?

nm...apparently it was the owner (according to google)

^the complaint from Mora was about having to travel across the country to play on such short rest

I was watching the game until the Broncos scored a TD to make it 22-6. I have some things to say about this fucking team:

Let's ignore the fact that on every single replay of a Broncos run to the outside there was obvious holding not being called. Let's also ignore that every decent deffensive player is either out or playing hurt (except Webster, who isn't playing at 100% either). It still doesn't change the fact that this team sucks.

Eli needs to understand that he is not his fucking brother. Every single time Eli changed the play, it resulted in a loss, most of the time because he handed it off to Jacobs and he got hit in the backfield. It's like he sees the defensive matchup and becomes too afriad to throw it.

Jacobs needs to grow a pair of balls and fucking block somebody when he isn't carrying the ball. Twice Eli was sacked for big yards because Jacobs missed an easy block.

And can someone please tell me why the fuck the receivers can't get open on man coverage? Eli had SO much time to throw downfield on countless occasions, and it resulted in either a sack, a throwaway, or short yardage that fell short of the sticks on 3rd down.

The glass is no longer half full, I am done dreaming for this season.

There still would have been a chance if the Redskins had held out the lead over the Eagles yesterday, now I don't think it would happen even if the Giants sweep the next 3 (all against the East)

Oh we back now. If we beat the Eagles next week and Dallas loses to the Chargers, we're in first place holding all the tie breakers. I'm trying really hard to not get my hopes up again but things are looking good.

If the Packers lose tomorrow night, we'll be tied for the 6th seed (Green Bay holds tie breaker for conference record, but only by 1 game)

^^ haha

as much as i hate giants too, was glad (shudders at rooting for either of these teams) to see them beat the cowsquirrels.

geaux saints!! we are going to buttrape the cowboys too. i'm 100x more worried about the panthers end of season game than i am with the cows. huge mismatch. i hope our main CB's are healthy for that matchup though.

Nah I wouldn't be worried about the Panthers. Your defense has picked off much better QBs this season, and I don't see many teams that can match the high-powered offense of the Saints. I originally planned on Minnesota beating New Orleans in the NFC Championship game, but after that loss to Arizona, I think New Orleans will be going to the superbowl, granted they don't have another close call like last week...

We're still up for the wild card if we beat Washington next week and the Cowboys lose to New Orleans.

Both are very likely situations. I will be at the game in DC.

Man some game. As soon as Jacobs fumbled I knew this game would be a blowout, but we rallied and took the lead. A couple dumb plays really cost us this game. Eli should never have fumbled, granted we got the ball back and then scored... It was a sloppy game on both ends, and our secondary keeps giving up the big plays.

The thing I can't figure out is why we can't get to a quarterback anymore... We have some of the best defensive linemen in the league, but every game we are lucky to get one or two sacks, and only when we bring 6 or 7 guys... This is why we are giving up the big plays, QBs have all the time to find the open man for big yards.

I hope we can put up a solid performance all around against Washington, and lets hope New Orleans doesn't pick this week to choke...

^because our secondary isn't tying up the receivers. sacks rely a lot on coverage and we're not getting it done.

Sure, but they still have all the time in the world, tying up receivers only forces the QB to wait longer, but its not a problem when they have enough time already.

Mediocre at best DTs.

Granted we do have some significant injuries to our defense, Kenny Phillips didn't play this game, and Antonio Pierce is out on IR...two key players for us...

Thats just great...

I hope we get to see more of that new running back they picked up, Gartrell Johhson, he played in the second half of the pre-season games and I was impressed with him, definitely a power back similar to DeAngelo Williams

I'm about to get in the car to drive up to the game.

We essentially have to win out at this point. Dallas is playing Washington next week (a probable win) and the eagles week 17 (a hopeful loss). So if we win out, that leaves us tied, and we hold the tie breaker.

We could also catch the Packers, but it is unlikely for them to lose to both the Seahawks AND the Cardinals, especially since the Cardinals probably won't be playing starters.

Either way, I'm excited about tonight. I'll post some pics when I get home.

Just got in to my hotel room, too tired to upload pics right now. All I can say is I picked the best game to go to. There was more blue in the stadium than any other color, except at the end of the game there was a lot of red (the color of the empty seats when all the Skins fans left before the 3rd quarter was even over).

Tuck and Bradshaw were having a lot fun with the crowd, it was like an extra home game.

Man the Giants brought the pain last night! Thats the kind of defense we should have been bringing to the table each week, and I the offense was running very smoothly. You definitely made the right call going to that game!!

I hope they keep it up this week. The Panthers did a great job against Minnesota but I don't think they can repeat. Seriously, when does Peppers ever have two good games in a row?
