I got through 4 or 5 games last night in Be a Pro with Ricky Lee Justice, a 6'6" beastmode d-man from the Ukraine.

ATTN: John Buccigross

Intriguing ideas sir, but St. Paul already has an NHL team. Perhaps you have heard of them. The Minnesota Wild?

Scott Burnside

Your ideas aren't really offensive to either side, but are just stupid.

Pierre LeBrun

Go die in a fire. No joke; I hope you are burned alive.

Barry Melrose

I don't have a terrible problem with this. Well done.

^^^ i'm in favour of the Euro division idea -- makes much more sense than having teams in Phoenix, Florida, Nashville, Vegas, Kansas City and every other two bit non-traditional hockey market.

Yes it definitely makes sense to have road trips where you fly for 10 hours across 5-10 time zones. And who wouldn't want to watch a Vancouver/Stockholm Stanley Cup Final played at 11:00 on a Wednesday morning?

i'm sure players would love a 7 game series and fly back and forth across the atlantic ocean every two days

a euro league would make SOME sense, but not a fucking division.

^^^ if you're a hockey fan you will watch it.

teams in europe will happen. the travel logistics can be overcome. i guess it only makes too much sense to put hockey in a place that has deep roots and produces a significant amount of the players in the league.

I'd watch it...

But I still don't see how it could make that much since, the teams in the euro division would have to travel so freaking much. I doubt many players would want to take red eyes one or twice a week to play. Would be they be paid in American dollars or the Euro?? and how would the taxes work? It would be cool, but I just don't see it happening any time soon (within 10-15 years).

Quote :
"The verdict is in. After a much-publicized attempt at an NHL comeback, Theoren Fleury has been released by the Calgary Flames.

The team released a statement Friday afternoon confirming the decision.

"I believe Theoren did a great job and should be proud, especially considering all the factors including age, time away from the game and lifestyle change," said general manager Darryl Sutter in the statement. "This is not a hockey story; it's a life story. Our agreement with Theoren was that he had to be one of our top six wingers and there were never any intentions of assigning him to the American Hockey League."

Fleury was gracious in his response.

"I am very thankful to Darryl and the Flames organization for following through on the commitment to provide me with this opportunity," Fleury said in a statement. "I said in the beginning that no matter what the outcome, this would be a success story. I intend to take the next few days to review this experience and make decisions with my family regarding next steps in my life.""
