Perhaps I am missing something, but given the evidence and all that was unfolding it seemed logical that the cops were on the verge of catching Trinity. Why does Dexter feel the need to only deal with Trinity himself. What would he have done if Trinity's daughter had actually named him and then all the evidence in the truckers place caused major conflicts. They would know there was a mole or whatever in the department. Isn't the main reason Dexter kills is to get those that slipped through the cracks of the justice system? Is he rushing to kill Trinity just to prevent him from killing again so soon?

Once Dexter has a target he can't let them go very easily, so he's giving the police the wrong target so he can deal w/ Trinity personally.

I guess that makes sense. But why risk going through all this when you could just let justice take its natural course. If he gets off, then go after him. He seems to be putting himself at too great a risk at this point. I could understand it before Miami PD had a strong lead on him, but now it just seems very very reckless. Don't get me wrong, it makes for very good TV, it just doesn't seem to follow his MO from the previous few seasons.

no, not at all. If you've watched more than a season of Dexter and this is your understanding of why he kills, you're thoroughly misinterpreting the character.

Dexter kills because he has to kill. It's part of who he is - his "dark passenger". The trauma of his mothers death put the killer's seed in him, and it is literally his only outlet. Some people jog, some people play piano, some people box... Dexter kills. Dexter is already a partial sociopath (not completely though, as evidenced by occasional genuine emotions for Rita, her kids, his sister, and true remorse when innocents die because of him), but if he was unable to kill, he would be a complete psychopath.

His adopted father recognized this trait in him when he was young, and realized that Dexter would end up killing innocent people and would ruin his life, if his stress wasn't channeled properly. He instilled "the code" in Dexter as a way to keep him sane, and do the world some good while he was at it. So, that is why he kills only killers or people who get away from justice. As long as he has to kill, he might as well kill people who deserve to die.

I understand that he HAS to kill. Thats not really my point. I was saying he has only killed people who have slipped through the cracks up until now for the most part. He seems to be going way out of his way with this one almost to the point that its annoying. Surely there has to be someone else he has lined up that he could focus his time towards once he realized that the cops were going to catch Trinity on their own. If he had to kill just to kill he wouldn't let it drag on this long. I understand he is a father/husband now and has changed, but he has broken his past MO so much trying to kill Trinity that its almost getting to the point of being ridiculous IMO. Don't get me wrong I love the show and watch it religiously, and I am not nit picking really, but this just struck me as odd and a little off.

this is like the ultimate kill for dexter, trinity is pretty much the worlds best serial killer and overall worst person ever.

^^^ when Dexter has a kill he that he wants to do himself, he always tries to divert the cops away from him. From what I remember, this happens every season. More than a couple times he's fed Deb enough info to make her look good, but always makes sure that she or the police never actually catch the person he wants to catch himself.

and besides its gotten way to personal with trinity for dex to be ok with the police department taking it from here. not to mention that his sister was shot indirectly because of trinity

yeah, and just because, as I said earlier, Dexter "has" to kill, that doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy it too.

He obviously takes pleasure in putting down bad people, and he has worked too hard getting close to, learning from, and studying Trinity just to let some bozo jury deliberate over him so he can sit on death row for decades.

on a non plot related note....

did anyone else really enjoy the scene were dex goes and punches the neighbor in the face? i loved it, esp when he told him to stay away from his wife. he was all crazy eyed when he did it. one of the few scenes i was actually attracted to dexter. i mean hes good looking but hes a little scrappy looking for me, but i would have had him in that scene

the more i think about it, the more sure i am that dex's sister will die.

In the preview, it shows trinity look up "D. Morgan." Everyone assume's its dexter, and he's all worried about his family...

but Deborah Morgan also lives in Dexter's old apartment, and if that is his old address, then bye bye Deb.

^ oh fuckin snap

i dont think she'll die but he could injure her to hospital style status and we could have to wait to find out what happens to her. THAT may be how deb ends up finding out ab his secret... i am so convinced this will happen at some point!

c'mon, man they are so good at giving you just enough in the previews to be able to either draw the obvious conclusion, or second guess it and draw another conclusion, and then you watch it, and it's completely different. You can predict more from the previous episode than you can from the previews... or at least that's just me.

Who has ShowtimeHD and an entertainment room done up like a theater with a projector? (All I have is a big TV) Maybe we should all go over there sunday night, make a social event out of it. You know, do the whole "fan" thing.

I have a home theater and showtime HD. not a projecter, but a 42 inch plasma, and leather theater chairs w/cupholders and a leather couch. Limited seating though...prob enough room for like 7-8 people. I do also have a bar in my house though...

No offense, but that is not even close to be classified as a "home theater"

Wow, torrents really take that long? I get pissed cause I have to wait 45 minutes. I don't know how I'd manage if I had to wait a full day to watch it.

For some reason Dexter always takes a long time to hit the torrent sites. It usually shows up on isoHunt around 2am or so.
