^^^^^ Exactly, that's why they used it every summer and owned multiple watercraft. They had no need for that house to store their watercraft, launch their watercraft or even to be able to stay near the watercraft during the times of the year they wanted to use them.

It was all about status son. 100%. Nothing to do with fun, convenience, etc.

Honestly, my ex put an ad on craigslist looking for friends with boats. I thought it was stupid. I never thought I'd be on a boat. But now I have lots of friends with boats.

People with boats inevitably want friends to boat with. So just look to craigslist and you will save money.

My grandparents used to have a place on the intracoastal in SC. They just had a normal dock, but some of them were really baller. Huge gazebos with grills and shit. That's the kind of dock to have, if you're going to dream about a beach house.

My preference is for massive acreage so I can have a dirt bike track in the back yard.
