Great game between the US and Sweden so far. 2-2 after the 2nd.

The US has only made the gold medal game twice in the 33 years of the tournament, winning just once when they beat Canada in 2004.

That 2004 US WJC team was pretty epic. Zach Parise, Matt Carle, Ryan Suter, Dustin Brown, Ryan Kesler, even Patrick Eaves, Patrick O'Sullivan. Throw in Montoya's great goaltending that tournament and that's why the US won.

This game has been really good. Sweden's 2 man forecheck on the penalty kill has thrown the US way out of sync. If they can just sustain some pressure on a power play, you'd have to think the pendalum would eventually swing their way.

Joe Exter was pissed about that interview in my opinion by Fred Pletsch. Seemed like he was down playing US the whole time in Joe's eyes and I agree with Joe's reaction.
