really two days? Shit is only 13 hours long. I routinely watch complete series in one sitting. But yes, patiently waiting for the sequel. The prequel was awesome, although somewhat short. Was cool how the final episode brought it back to the final episode of season 1. Just a good damn show.

I watched the last episode of S1 again after the last episode of the prequel.

Forgot how badass it was, especially when Crixus goes 'Spartacus' and taps his shield

had to opportunity to watch this while at a house with Starz on Demand..watched the prequel first on accident, which in hindsight was the better way to watch. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire series. The final ep of blood and sand was awesome. So will the next "season" be a prequel so they can bring back the House of Batiatus cast or do we see what happens with Asher, Ilithyia, and the traveling band of free slaves?

^^Next season will be the slave revolt. Glaber will be one of the Roman generals tasked with taking them down. I'm sure that Ashur, Ilithyia, Lucretia, Gannicus, etc. will all factor in somehow.

yep, small clips of both Lucretia and Gannicus.

the new Spartacus looks a lot smaller than Andy Whitfield, but at this point i'm just glad this show is coming back.

4 minute opening scene teaser. Ready for this show to come back, but still really down about the death of Andy Whitfield. From all the things i've read his shadow still looms for the first couple episodes but it isn't long before this next chapter becomes something of it's own. I'm hoping that's so.

Premieres Friday Jan. 27 10pm

Awesome.

Are Starzz shows still pulled off of Netflix? Going to suck if I can't get the episodes the day after on Netflix.

That looks fucking horrible, and I loved the first season. They couldn't have gotten a blander and less charismatic person to play Spartacus.

i think the prequel mini-season proved well enough that as good as Andy Whitfield was, the show could still be great without him. With the returning cast of characters I think it'll be just fine.

I just hope I won't be 5 episodes into the new season and find myself saying "That's not Andy Whitfield. That's not Spartacus."

The premiere is available on the Starz website already. I watched it last night after the football games.

It was good, but I can't get past the new Spartacus. Like the post up above, hopefully that feeling will go away soon enough.

Good as always. New spartacus makes no difference. Not like the spartacus character is the most compelling in this show, anyway.

All the side characters and Batiatus et. al. were always the more interesting ones.

^disagreed. I thought that Andy Whitfield did an tremendous job turning Spartacus from a hero into a smoldering cauldron of hatred, and then into a robotic killing machine, before returning to said hatred in the final 2 episodes of the first season. It was an incredible performance. I'm not sold on this new Spartacus, but I'll do my best to give him a chance.

First episode of the new season was interesting. No big surprises. I will be tuning in for episode 2.

watched it tonight. new spartacus was ok. he didn't seem as dark/quiet/confident as the old one. idk hard to explain for me. the tone in his voice seems more lighthearted than the original spartacus

would have liked more doctore. glad i didn't have to wait like 7 episodes to see viva bianca nekkid.

liked the episode though

[Edited on January 31, 2012 at 2:17 AM. Reason : new spartacus isn't bad enough for me to not watch anymore]

I thoroughly enjoyed the new episode, really roped me back into the series(it seemed like forever since I watched the first season and prequel season). Now I just have to find a way to watch it without getting Starz.

Does Starz still put their new shows on Netflix 90 days after premiering?

I don't mind the new spartacus too much, But I think a lot of it is due to the fact that i haven't watched seaon one since it first aired, it's been almost 2 years

^^ No. Their agreement expired without being renewed, so Netflix will no longer have any Starz programming streaming.
