Interesting. Probably not going to happen, but I don't hate the idea.

I wanted Vick last year

I've hated Jake since the dawn of time

I was the drunk guy in the upper deck 4 years ago leading the "PUT IN WIENKE!" chant

^^I agree with your first two statements.

Vick used to abuse the Panthers, why not bring him over on our side?

The Eagles already said they are picking up his option so it looks like he won't be a Panther.

I was hoping we would take him last year. The Eagles don't need him, we do.

From what i've heard, if the eagles pay take his option, it is solely to lock him up so they can get something for him on the trade market.

Seems like it would be Fox's dream QB...The might only throw 5 times a game next season if vick comes.

I'd still like to see Moore get a real shot, but I'd take anything over Delhomme

Julius Peppers' agent had a meeting with the Bears. Isn't that tampering?

In this shitty economy not taking Vick would be the dumbest move ever.

A starting QB who has the potential to be good for almost no money.

Take the fucking guy, we have Matt Moore as our other option. Delhomme isnt bad as a 3rd option and he can help the other two guys learn the offense, he owes us that for as much as he makes

It looks like things between the Bears and Peppers are hot and heavy right now. Look for him to pull a Haynesworth and agree to a deal just hours into free agency.

I heard on the radio earlier that Panthers offered him a long term deal worth $14 mill per year at the last minute and he turned it down.

We placed a 1st & 3rd round tender on Moore, the same we had previously done for T Davis. Looks like he should be here to stay and shows what the organization thinks of him despite all the waffling.

Yeah its a good sign. If we lose Davis or Moore, we jump into the 1st round. I still have worries that Jake will start in week 1, but as long as Fox is comfortable pulling him at halftime like he did Rodney Peete, I'm ok with it.

^To be honest, I'll be surprised if the Panthers don't trade a future first to get back in this year's first round regardless of what players go, stay, or are added to the team

^fox will probably try...Since, like last year, this could be his last shot here. But I would doubt Richardson is going to let them do that again....Sadly, I bet they're more likely to move one of the RB's to get into the first round.

I really think we wouldn't suffer too much from not having a first rounder this year. We've got a solid core and can probably get some good FA deals to fill our glaring needs....I hope they make a push to get Kevin Walter.

Yeah I agree. Why would they trade a sure thing in a very good draft this year for the possibility of nothing?

Clearly I couldn't have been kidding since they've traded a future 1st rounder each of the last two years

"The teenager’s first year at Chapel Hill was more notable for what happened away from sports. Redshirted in football, he didn’t see a second of action for the Tar Heels on the gridiron, nor did he try out for the hoops team. He did, however, hook up with an academic advisor named Carl Carey. With a doctorate in educational psychology from UNC, Carey was a perfect mentor for Julius. He kept the freshman on track academically, making sure he attended classes and paid attention to his studies. Over the years, Carey would come to fill even more important roles for Julius, including steering him clear of shady agents and serving as a de facto business manager once he reached the pros."

this is incredible to me. the dude pretty much scheduled peppers so he could stay academically eligible to play and he was rewarded with a percentage of the man's riches

Please just give the job to Moore and keep both running backs. Throw in a #2 reciever and some defensive line and maybe another option at nickle if Captain can't get it done.

Please don't fuck this up hurney.

They picked up Ed Johnson, and I guess kemo is coming back, and we have
Irvin and Tank. Add maybe one solid option and go with that.

gah

fuck trading anything for mcnabb

moore has proven to be decent, we dont need a world beater. we are down enough assets as it is, get some competition in free agency and leave it at that.

[Edited on March 4, 2010 at 11:52 PM. Reason : i, too, will question my fanhood if we draft tebow]

Lol at the Tebow hate. Hasn't thrown a NFL pass and you are already hating.

I really don't get the Tebow hate...he's got to be the most likable guy ever.

I like Tebow.

I also like Armanti Edwards.

I have my doubts about either of them being NFL QB's.

Armanti is way too small but he still might make it as a KR or WR or something.

I know I am in the big minority but I like Tebow's NFL stock but I think it will take a few years.

McNabb seems to show interest in Arizona. I doubt its him. If anything I see it being Vick which i dont see at all...I'll go with it being Moore and a FA like Garcia or something.

Personally, I'm comfortable going into the season with Matt Moore as the starter and grabbing a cheap backup veteran to help him learn and give us depth. Someone like Kerry Collins would be fine with me.

I don't want to throw a big deal at QB when we don't know the future salary cap structure... also, the money is better off spent elsewhere in my opinion. Our defense played pretty well late last year and if we add a weapon on offense and a few guys here and there we should be playoff contenders again.
