The "muck it up" lineup worked to perfection in the first half and we just didn't take advantage of it to grab a bigger lead.

At this point I think you guys WANT us to lose. We were TEN point underdogs and we almost won the game outright. Did you see Lawal and Favors out there?? They were on the OTHER team and we still almost won.

He might have had an idea that Hickson was one and done but a guarantee? Get real. There was certainly a chance that he would be in college for more than one year when Sid initially began to recruit him.

About Costner, the guy was lazy and had a bad attitude. Under a different coach he would have probably never even seen the floor because of these things, but we had personnel problems so he had to be out there.

Okay so Hickson was good enough to go pro early. I guess you are suggesting we shouldn't have accepted a first round pick caliber recruit who wanted to play here. Maybe we should have saved his scholarship for another 2 star PG. Great idea.

The reason we suck is becasue we've had 4 players defect, we missed on the best two prospects in the country, and we are one of the youngest teams in the nation.

We lost our bridge when Brackman/Simmons left early and an entire recruiting class fell thru because the coaching search went on so long.

We were not supposed to win games, everyone knew the rebuilding process was going to be difficult.

Now here we are showing flashes of potential in year 4 with a good young roster, a top notch incoming class, and a coach who has proven he can land big time recruits and has a good eye for overlooked players like Gonzalez, T.Smith, Wood, Howell, and Davis.

The amount of negativity is just strange. Perplexing, really.

Okay, we didn't beat UNC. I wish we had. We didn't. Coming into the season beating UNC wasn't even on the table so get over it.

Herb faced UNC during their weakest decade ever as a program and we went 3-50 against them. They trotted out a good team or two, several mediocre ones, and an outright horrible one and yet we still couldn't ever beat them.

If you read my original post I put that we aren't good enough to win games yet. There is no doubt of that.

However, our young talent looks really solid and we aren't losing anything next year. We add a great recruiting class. If anything, today was another positive as we found out what a great asset Painter is on defense. Our frontcourt is looking like one of the best in the conference next year between Smith, Howell, Painter, Cothron, Vandenburg, Thomas. Our backcourt gets a talent infusion next year to add with a retuning senior in Javi. Our wings add another year of experience where we need it the most between Wood, Davis, and CJ.

We look like we'll be good next season, marginal in two years, and terrific in three seasons. Why is that difficult to comprehend?
