i get that Smith is old, although I completely dispute the fact that he's not the best Steve Smith in the league (when healthy)

but don't compare trading Smith to trading Moss, since the Pats have arguably the best QB in the league and the Panthers have arguably the worst, and the Pats are winning games regardless

if we were beating teams by 20 points with Smith getting 0 catches like the Pats did 2 weeks ago, that would be one thing

I mean Moose is older than Smith, and he'd be the #2 on this team if he hadn't retired after last year

and i'm not actually advocating trading Beason, but our strengths are HB and LB, not WR...we can't afford to lose Smith

Why keep someone that may let us go 3-13 this year when we could trade him for a pick that would help us go 13-3 in 2013?

cause its 2010, not 2013

and Andrew Luck will be able to get him the ball just fine in 2011

The season is lost whether we win 0 games or 5

Future wins are incrementally more valuable the further the season goes along

I, too, think we should trade Smitty. The pick would be good for the Panthers and I hate to see the guy wasted with shitty QBs during what should be the prime of his career.

Moose retired because noone would give him a contract. Noone. And you're right, he'd still probably be #2. Shit, you could be the #2 receiver on this team.

And Clausen will be fine. He may not be great, but he'll be a legit starter in the league.

The question about Smitty is when does he decide he's fed up with it all and start causing trouble? I love the man, but he's not the most even keel person ever. I still don't think we should trade him though, because he's still one of the best in the game when our offense isn't a hot bag of dogshit.

yea i wish the media would stop trolling him on those fumbles, pretty much none of those were his fault, he's still played pretty bad though
