I haven't watched many races this year, but it seems like you can pretty much GUARANTEE a caution within 10 laps of the finish

Both the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 have the National Guard car in first in the 4th turn on the final lap and neither wins the race.

What a race! Hard to be bummed about Kahne running out of gas considering the craziness of that finish.

NASCAR really needs to hire me to attend all of the CHASE races if they want to assure a new champion will be crowned.

Way to go Gordon! Tied for 3rd all time

When Denny had a flat tire the commentary went something like this

1st commentator:It's a good thing that it happened under yellow.

Kyle Petty: Well it is good that happened during the caution.

"NASCAR penalizes No. 18 team for Pocono issues
Rogers fined $25,000; Gibbs, Busch each lose six championship points
By Official Release
June 13, 2011 1:47 PM, EDT

type size: + - DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR has penalized the No. 18 team in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series as a result of rule infractions discovered during post-race inspection Sunday at Pocono Raceway.

The No. 18 car was found to be in violation of Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4-J (any determination by NASCAR officials that race equipment used in the event does not conform to NASCAR rules); and 20-12.8.1B (body height requirements -- car failed to meet the minimum front car heights) of the 2011 NASCAR rule book.

As a result, crew chief Dave Rogers has been fined $25,000, while owner Joe Gibbs and driver Kyle Busch have been penalized with the loss of six championship owner and six championship driver points, respectively.

looks like "stock car racing" is going to become the official state sport of NC

Whereas, North Carolina educates and trains individuals in its University system and Community College system for jobs in stock car racing; and

that's incorrect. virginia hosts 4 sprint cup races annually.

that statement is only true if you count the sprint showdown as a separate event, which is fucking stupid. even then it's not really true b/c the statement says 3 races in NC.

If you really want to argue semantics, Daytona has 4 events/5 races: the Bud Shootout, two Gatorade 150s, the Daytona 500, and the Coke Zero 400.

Plus Homestead at the end of the year and Florida has 5 Sprint Cup events.
