To those of you who finished the campaign: What did you think?

I was convinced this game was going to be catastrophically terrible, but I'm reading many reviews claiming the campaign is the best in the series since the first game.

If they would completely eliminate bloom and decrease the aim assist, this game would be epic. As it is it takes too much time to kill someone, and by the time their shields are down the bloom weapons are too inaccurate so it becomes dice rolling.

Unfortunately, Decrease the skill gap = cater to casual nubz = make more money.

The more I play this game, the more I'm enjoying it. After Halo 3 I've been playing COD games ever since and got way burned out on them. This is a nice change of pace and I think they've done a really good job with it. So far I'm glad I passed on BLOPS2.

Heads up, there seems to be a bug with the Map Pack listing and some people are able to download it for free. Fire up Halo 4 and give it a shot.

I couldn't get it to work, but I also am not sure if I ever downloaded the Specializations. I did enter the code and it pops up the 'already used' error when I try it, but when I go to the Specializations menu it only lists the 2 old ones. Any ideas?

^ You have to download them from the marketplace after you enter the code.

I think you have to go through the actual market, not through the in-game download menu. I just remember having the same problem and thinking "That was not a very intuitive solution" when I finally got them.

I think my specializations didn't "take" or something. I deleted the generic addon for Halo 4 that was in my storage, went to acct management, download history to redownload the priority alpha pack, then loaded up Halo and I was able to get the map pack . Thanks for the assistance!

^ Well, actually it now sounds like those "free" maps were actually a trial. Microsoft screwed up the code distribution for specializations, so they added a map trial to the codes that were finally sent out.

Supposedly the free maps will deactivate on Tuesday and those people will have to pay the $10 to keep playing on them.

Very poor communication on Microsoft's part.

Got my second "Airssassination" (mid-air assassination) last night. That and "Showstopper" (saving a teammate by stopping an assassination that's underway) are pretty gratifying

i played this a good deal yesterday. i really like it. the campaign is really fun so far, although i started on heroic and am finding it pretty difficult. ammo has been tough to come by, i keep having to switch weapons when i otherwise wouldn't want to.

multiplayer is also great...i especially like the free-for-all regicide games.

as far as loadouts go, i haven't found any reason to use anything other than promethean vision or the jetpack for my special ability.

i'm glad i got this game for christmas. my cousin knew i was getting him borderlands 2, so he got this for me. i probably wouldn't have bought it myself and would have missed out.
