I know I don't have any clout here but you guys are going to just have to trust me when I say two teams per conference (one in each division) is the best way to go. When you get more than two teams per conference the people who are struggling lose interest. Also, when people are playing with their own recruited players to their style 3 or 4 seasons into the dynasty, it becomes fantastic and the 80% of users that would stop playing the game by then are hooked because they love the team they have recruited custom.

At the end of the season each conference championship game features users and theres all sorts of bowl implications in those games and the winners go on to play each other in bcs bowl games. Its super exciting and gets everyone pumped.

I promise you it would work out better. Sure, some people end up playing with schools they are not interested in (since most of you are only interested in east coast teams) but that can be tweaked this year.

Also, user games are much bigger in my scenario because everyone beats the computer and you end up getting battles of top 10 teams in every user game. I have never seen a superconference dynasty go more than 1 full season simply because people dropout or stop playing.

Keep in mind that the non conference season is 4 games and you can fill that up with user games and end up with 4 or 5 per season.

if you confident based on what you've seen in the past then fine, i'll trust you. but based on the people i've played with in the past (haven't played with any of this group or any ncstate group), that format never works out and the format i've suggested almost always works out with tons of interest, and excitement.

I'm just putting this out there because I'd hate to waste time in a league that has two or three people left after the first season or flatout stops advancing.

Theres an easy way to draft teams without an order.

1.Everyone lists 12 teams in order
2. Teams ranked #1 by a single user are assigned to that user.
3. If a team is #1 by multiple users then one user is randomly selected for that team.
4. Reapeat for #2

Usually, only a few people pick the same team anyway.

Here are the facts: hey now is buddy buddy with Ernie and Treetwista across multiple sections, across multiple threads. They have several inside jokes and regularly communicate on a variety of topics. They are the definition of a TWW clique. All three decide to join the NCAA league. No problem. hey now wants to be commish. Again, no issues. But now the commish wants to determine the pick order with his "secret randomizer". Sketchy, but I'll let in slide.

But now we see the results. The first three picks are hey now and the retard crew. 1-2-3. He could run the "secret randomizer" 1000 times and wouldn't get those results. He blatantly and obviously stacked the deck, and his thinly veiled attempts at justifying his actions ("Nah, man, it was legit") are falling on deaf ears. He took advantage of his roll as commissioner to manipulate the draft order to ensure he and his buddies would have the best teams. This kills the spirit and competition in the league and makes the results meaningless.

I URGE ALL OF YOU TO REALIZE THE ERROR OF HEY NOW'S WAYS AND TO NOT PARTICIPATE UNTIL HE OR SOMEONE ELSE HAS RECTIFIED THE SITUATION.

Not trying to run the league or bump heads with anybody just trying to give you some good advice. I've seen dynasties fail and succeed. Just because I don't want to run a dynasty doesn't mean I don't want the leagues I'm in to be run well. The decisions made on format at the start of the league are very sensitive, long term decisions and a lot of thought should be put into them is all I'm saying.
I trust that the people running the dynasties I'm in will make the best decisions to make them good.

I also realize that many of the people here really just want to have a league that uses the online dynasty feature to keep track of records, stats and all(which is fine) instead of a full online dynasty.
