I think the real problem is that the racists often want to just cause more problems, and then when people try to censor something and get offended it just shows them they have succeeded. Then they increase their efforts and go to larger and larger schemes.

If minorities would just ignore this kind of thing it may stem some of that.

They don't need to be part of the discussion. My whole point is there will always be people who want to get a rise out of others in some way or another, and you're better off not letting them make you feel bad about yourself. I think the real issue here is why black people care so much about the n word when they use it amongst themselves all the time and no one seems to care. In part both sides are to blame because both sides contribute to the advancement of the n word.

There is no solution to racism. There will always be racism. You can not protect people from exposure to it. The only way to combat it, in my opinion, is to 1) Teach people how to harden themselves to it. There's no reason to feel personally hurt by ignorant statements. 2) Teach people how to fight back in non-violent ways, such as returning hatred with kindness. 3) Continue to encourage diversity. Exposure to other cultures can have a great impact on people, when they realize that the group they hate is not so different after all.
