Here til Friday. Ate at 167 Raw, which was outstanding and am now at Westbrook Brewing. My cousin and I have tried every draft on the board and all were solid. Gonna check out Holy City and Revelry tomorrow. Maybe try to find a dive downtown tonight. 12/27/2017 5:55:05 PM |

Dives:
The Recovery Room (supposedly #2 seller of PBR in the nation...mix of hipsters/bikers/and foodandbev)
Mr. B's (weird mix of a gentrified neighborhood...old black people and kinda-rich late 30s/early 40s white folk)
The Faculty Lounge (probably the best...great mix of foodandbev, locals, young professionals...great cocktails and music...check their instagram for special events) 12/27/2017 7:28:34 PM |

^Nice thanks
Any opinion on Burn’s Alley or AC’s? Close to the hotel and the latter has pool tables 12/27/2017 7:37:10 PM |

Ended up at A&C. Was initially too crowded so went to Closed For Business and they had some great drafts. Then went back to A&C and got a little table and had some great cheese steaks. Now at Upper Deck Tavern, which we stumbled upon. Gonna check out Recovery Room and Burns Alley late night tomorrow after we go to Holy City Brewing and Revelry Brewing. Charleston is great. 12/28/2017 1:29:30 AM |

Forgot about Upper Deck...thats a good one.
Hard to call AC's a dive because they're in the middle of the Upper King shit-show and it's crawling with college kids and hipsters. But it checks every other dive-bar quality off the list.
Good time of the year to be in Charleston (other than this is as cold as it gets). It's always pretty calm around the holidays. Make sure you get a burger at Little Jacks Tavern at some point...its ridiculous. Its not too far from Recovery Room and The Faculty Lounge...so you could grab one after the breweries tomorrow before you head out again.

Loved Holy City - very cool vibe there and had some of the best beer all trip. Went to Edmund's Oast, which was more of a restaurant / high-end vibe but the PB&J saison was awesome. Revelry was cool but I probably would have enjoyed it more if the roof was open. Overall, I was very impressed with the breweries I went to. Went back to ACs during the day for lunch and got the chili burger - very good and cheap. Burn's Alley was cool..from what I remember haha. Great trip overall. 12/30/2017 11:35:48 PM |

Need a couple restaurant suggestions. Looked thru the last few pages but some of y'all have more sophisticated taste than me I guess.
Something more along the line of Little Jacks. More basic food than that Edmunds Oast place. And some good places that are a little cheaper too. Don't wanna spend $100 a meal every night, but not really trying to go to like Applebee's. Gonna be 4 days worth of food. 1/13/2018 10:52:27 AM |

East Bay Deli, Lewis BBQ, Swig and Swine, Santis, Kickin' Chicken
If you like pinball, head over to Garage 75. Decent food and great pinball games.
The Alley downtown also has good food and bowling/arcade games. 1/13/2018 11:26:51 AM |

You can go to the Edmund's Oast Brewery. They opened about 4 or 5 months...not too far from the restaurant. Still great food, just taken down a notch in price and "fanciness". And their beers are cheap and delicious. We take our kid and dog their all the time. And I like Little Jacks, but it can be pricey. 1/13/2018 2:17:30 PM |

BTT headed there for Dec 27th thru New Year's Day. Have High Cotton, Halls and Magnolias. Fig wouldn't take reservations yet. Staying in Charleston place part of the time. Anything I should cancel or add on? Haven't been since 2010. 11/18/2018 9:04:37 PM |
