No fan should ever lower their expectations. I want my team to win every game they go play. I know its not likely that will happen, but what kind of fan would I be if I didn't want that to happen. And if a coach is the reason that they aren't winning, then why should I expect anything other than getting a better coach? Winning means money, so does that mean that NC State doesn't want to make money? Should they not try to get the best team/coaching staff in every sport to make more money? Should they just accept they are not good, and say where they are, or should they strive to be better?

Having lower expectations =/= not wanting your team to win. We fire TOB and we would be lucky to end up with the football equivalent of Sidney Lowe. Hell, we have beat UNC 4 years in a row and have had the best seasons post P Riv that NCSU has seen. Championship caliber teams aren't built overnight, they take time and you are delusional if you think a simple coaching change would put us in a better situation over the course of the next 4 years or so.

I'm pretty sure most people are talking more about Archer than they are TOB. Archer ran pretty bad schemes at UK and that has carried over here as well. We're not going to be able to keep Tenuta as a position coach forever and he would be a step up as a DC if we can't find a proven commodity. Then we could get a young coaching prospect to take his LB coaching job.

Couple of fallacies ITT.

- You don't make future decisions based on sunk costs (TOBs first 5 years here). You keep or fire TOB based on what you expect him to do in the future. If we take a step back this year, that should be a clear sign of TOB's peak.
- The reason we have bad assistants is because of our head coach's poor ability to identify coaching talent. You get rid of Archer or Bible, you have the same poor decision making looking for a replacement. It's like firing a coach and having Fowler run your coaching search.
