But, if that were true, what would "I know a bad marriage when I see one" mean?

^Maybe since his marriage is crumbling it won't be difficult to draw him to another job in a far away city?

I'm probably completely wrong but just seems weird.

Obviously the new girl is the real Scranton Strangler and she's going to kill Jim in Florida.

I think it's an impressive feat to turn Pam from one of the coolest chicks into one of the least enjoyable.

Same for the relationship, too. So it would seem fitting if Jim drove the relationship into the ground the way the writers did. Do it Jim! Do it!!

i mean the whole show was grounded on the idea that jim and pam had their sites on something more then working at some crap paper sales company

now they are the beaten down couple who've had their dreams crushed

fun times

The office was so popular early on not only because of dumbass Steve Carrell, but also the fact that everyone, and their hormones, wanted to see Jim and Pam have hot nasty animal sex.

Now that Pam has gotten torn up by giving birth twice there isn't much traction on the treads. Nobody gives a shit about andy/erin or derrell/val or Ryan/kelly. Since Jim is now the main character they want him to fuck the hottest chick in the office, and thats what they gotta do.

Whoever it was talking about Jim/Kathy drunk and kiss or something and then Jim feels bad and there is drama for 5 episodes but then they hug it out is dead on. It is too predictable at this point. I wonder how many more seasons they can throw together... Ed Helms just isn't funny enough.

Essentially.

I guess I could gripe if they wrote a fake pregnancy into the script and ruined the characters. But Jenna Fischer had to go and get actually pregnant...

as for more seasons, I was under the impression (and hoping and praying) that this was the last one.

I can't wait for the NBC memo that says "all of our sitcoms must say "fuck" at least once per episode" to leak

So I take next week's episode will be that chick telling everyone in the office that she and Jim hooked up then 30 minutes of Jim trying to convince Pam that he didn't do anything.

I was half asleep while watching this, so cut me some slack if this is easy to figure out, but...

Why did Dwight suddenly shun the british lady and not wanna fornicate with her? I understand the only reason he wanted to in the first place was to get the VP job, so why did he do a 180? Help me out here folks, I had to have missed something.

"With Erin, she will go to FL, begin the very beginning of a new life in FL, Andy will go down there after realizing how much she means to him, and they will get together.

As for Jim and Pam, the new girl will try and put a rift between Jim and Pam and try to seize that to be with Jim. Jim isn't an opportunistic douche who would cheat on Pam. They may end up drunk at sometime and she will kiss. Jim will hesitate at pushing her away, but will. They will say nothing to Pam, but she will find out. It will become a huge deal, they will go to marriage counciling and everything will be ok."

About half of what my prediction has either come true or is on track to come true.

so this show has pretty much completely lost me, though i'll surely watch until the end at this point.

although there was one funny line: "careful jim, it gets easier and easier."

Forgot how funny this show used to be... watching an episode like "The Dinner Party" and then back to season 8...

idk why carell would leave the office. All of his movies sucked... there are enough actors that can play "dumbass idiots" in films. A dumbass idiot in an awkward business setting though, he nailed it. RIP The Office.

Steve wanted to Go out on top. do movies for money wait 3 years cash in on another sitcom canceled in the second season then do an office movie.

it's not as if the last few seasons were awesome.

it's also not as if james spader isn't the funniest person on the show right now.

it's also not as if steve carell's schtick wasn't incredibly tired by the time he left.

they are losing Paul Lieberstein as showrunner at the end of the season

and while nowhere near as good as it once was, it's absurd to say that it's gotten worse than Entourage

Nellie needs to go.

its ridiculous.

get her off, get more of the dwight and Jim storyline back. I like how they have kinda tried to involved Kevin a little more.

i mostly meant the falloff was worse than entourage.

this show is barely better though. i'm still watching to see how this season ends, so it's not at the entourage level yet where i turn it off midway through episode 4 of a season, but it's so close.

I thought Thursdays episode was fair.

What is interesting though is the ratings for that night. A repeat of the big bang theory at 9 slaughtered the office.

http://www.cnn.com/2012/04/13/showbiz/tv/office-ratings-low-big-bang-ew/index.html?c=showbiz

It's not looking good for NBC in general though.

IIRC it never really was a huge ratings threat. From the get-go it only quietly got renewed for a full order in season 2.

I've been a huge fan since the beginning. In 2005 I remember rushing home from class to catch it, because there was actually stuff that you could miss being funny, even 20 seconds in. Now I just don't give a fuck. Like I'll fall asleep watching the DVR-recorded episode and don't even care to catch the last five minutes. There's not a single plot line worth caring about, or talking about with other people. Sadly, it's like an old dog with a lot of good times and memories, but it needs to be put down for its own good.

Up All Night not doing it for you? I'm sure NBC will just continue to take the one show out of the Thursday night lineup that people actually want to watch so they can fill the slot with another Whitney, Up All Night, or Outsourced in hopes that one sticks.
