Thoughts from the game:

-I got chills when TD made that sack. He still hits like a freight train. Great coverage on the Jets TE too ... hate the guy blew his knee out though.

-Kuechly might already be a top 10 LB in the league. I think he had 10 tackles in one half? I don't think I've ever seen someone make playing the run look so effortless. The play where he missed the tackle on Shonn Green in the back-field, fell down, got up and made the tackle again was unreal.

-I don't know who the hell Armond Smith is, but that guy is explosive. He needs to make the team.

-We really REALLY need Steve Smith for this offense to work.

-Thomas Keiser just makes plays. Everytime that guy is in, whether it's against starters or scrubs, he makes things happen. He needs to be in the rotation with Hardy and Johnson.

-Punters look great. Kickers look great. Do you keep Mare for kickoffs or Medlock for the fans? Tough call.

That's a pretty rudimentary approach. Studies have shown that field goal % is pretty random from year to year, while kickoffs are reliably consistent.

Considering we had one of the worst punt coverages in NFL history last year, I think kickoff length is obviously pretty damn important.
