Ribs has predicted it. United and Arsenal shouldn't even bother playing their matches now.
Gus was interesting. At least it was funny and his goal celebrations were much better than some of the muted commentators today. Bring back Andy freaking Gray. The goal commentary these days in the EPL are "oh, its a goal." And done.

All you need to know about how far Arsenal has fallen is that they are being defended by a United fan in this thread. Also, sadly Monreal is cup tied in Europe, so Vermaelen will be the left back if he is healthy. If he's not healthy... uhhhh... no idea.
Anyway, somebody needs to find a way to pry Ray Hudson away from beIN.

You got one lucky goal against the run of play and Madrid peppered your keeper, who I will concede played the match of his life to only concede one. Makes you wonder why he looks like shite every weekend in the league...

The bitterness is strong with this one. So many things wrong with your post I am not even going to bother addressing the obviously biased views.
Forgot Monreal is cup tied, that is a big blow. Defensive organization will surely be an issue then. I am looking forward to the match up, should be close. I believe Bayern will just edge it but Arsenal have every chance of winning it too.
Also I am defending Arsenal because Arsenal are one of the teams that have always played football the right way. Out of the consistent top 4 finishers Arsenal is the only team worthy of respect. City and Chelsea won the lottery and cashed in. Liverpool gets my begrudging respect, although as of late they have been annoying too. Arsene Wenger has done a tremendous job with that team each year and if he had any support from his board he probably would have had a few more trophies.2/14/2013 2:08:32 PM |

I thought he was horrible. His commentary didn't have the "poetry" that I expect and get from Martin Tyler, Jon Champion, etc. And he called the game from a dumbed-down American perspective, saying obvious things like "Manchester United and Real Madrid are two giants of European football"2/14/2013 5:38:32 PM |

Arsenal lose at home to a Championship side, yet they have "a very good chance" over two legs against Bayern.

Yes Ribs because every match is the same right? Last time United won the Champions League I am certain we didn't win the FA cup. One match hardly is a marker for the rest of the season. I expect nothing less from spurs fans, at least have a bit of objectivity though.... 2/17/2013 2:54:02 AM |

I don't think it matters if they make it - he's of the caliber now that he'll want to be in a team that has a good chance of winning it. No disrespect to Spurs, but that's not them. It is, however, Madrid(maybe not next year if Mourinho goes), Barca, or Bayern. 2/18/2013 9:07:27 AM |
IMStoned420 All American 15485 Posts user info edit post |
I think he'll go to Madrid or Bayern in like 2 years unless one of those two offer absolutely stupid money for him this summer. I think he's enjoying playing for Spurs and after having seen what happened to Modric this season at Madrid, he'll be a little bit more discerning with where and when he chooses to go.
I have no delusions about him finishing his career out with Tottenham or even keeping him for more than 1-2 more seasons.

I wouldn't rule out City as a likely destination. If they don't win anything this year then Mancini is likely out. The new manager will get the funds and city desperately need a winger. Queue $60 million for Bale. 2/18/2013 7:45:45 PM |

^ What are you talking about? RVP has always been someone Sir Alex has admired, and he knew his best chance at trophies was here and not at city. United barely signs established super stars. RVP, Veron, Ruud, and Berbatov are a few notable exceptions. United's signings are more often than not youngsters who have shown massive potential.
Anyway Arsenal 2-1 tonight. Should be close.

You take things too literal. Simply mocking Arsenal for selling its best players, even to rivals. And SAF could have rubbed one out every night for a decade to his RVP Fathead and it still wouldn't excuse selling him to United IMO.
I'm guessing Vermaelen has to play at LB tonight with Kos/Mert in the center?
