I thought we'd at least get a glimpse of her. Solid finale to set up the final season.

Great finale. Definitely hoping they don't do a 24 style last season. Fortunately that sort of thing wouldn't be great for syndication, so very doubtful it happens, more likely an hour long season premiere, first half lead up to the wedding, second half actual wedding.

Sepinwall is such a whiny bitch sometimes. He was going to complain about whatever HIMYM did in the final season.

I don't think it's terrible to stretch it out because they will flash forward and flash back 50% of the time anyway. That's just what the show does and has always done. I think it will actually be a refreshing change if they do it right - they could have the mom come in and correct Ted the narrator a couple of times - or have her actually narrate an episode.

Pretty good finale, especially considering how terrible this season was.

BTW the mom also played that girly-girl comedian on the worst episode of 30 Rock ever.

though, i'm not opposed to the idea of them flashing back/forward. would be interesting to see all the near misses they had from her perspective, build her character up.

as long as its not a season long wedding episode, i think i'll be ok haha.

i honestly don't think i'll come back next season. i watched maybe 4 episodes from the second half of this season and deleted the season pass on my DVR.

The Robin/Barney dynamic is the finale was really good. They were finally portrayed in a light where they make sense as a couple. That's been sorely lacking because so far their whole engagement as seem contrived; thrown together for the sake of wrapping up the series (it totally was, but they're starting to make it work).

Ted is still a whiny douche. He should have a drug problem for his ennui to make any since in the light of his wild success as an architect.

Notes from the writers' room: "What the fuck should we do with Marshall and Lilly? They have a kid now and thus have fulfilled all their overarching plot threads."

Everyone knew the judge thing was coming, right? They did one episode of him interviewing and then ignored it, but it had to come back eventually.

Well, nothing came from Ted breaking up with Victoria over not hanging out with Robin any more and they said "We'll get to that later." At this point, I really don't expect them to resolve things, but maybe it will come back up?

Then again, they never touched upon Ted being a douche when he did a swap-a-roo on Victoria and her fiancee's letters.
