Let's focus on the game now. State needs to make a concerted effort to run the ball this weekend. Duke has an awful rushing attack and they plowed through UNC during the 1st half last week. Ball control will be important as we need to keep Bernard off the field as much as possible.

I have little confidence in our defense. We had way too many missed tackles last week against Maryland, especially Amerson. Bernard is going to make us miss multiple times. And we'll get to Renner a few times, but not as many as last year.

I trust our defense. I think we are going to do a good job of getting to Renner and mitigating the damage done by Bernard. I think UNC's passing game is less of a threat than their stats would indicate. Most of my pre-game fears are centered on the performance of our offense.

I doubt very much that our running game is going to take off. I like the explosiveness of Thornton, but Creecy is a bit tougher and more experienced and I think we need to substitute often and keep them both fresh if we are going to run the ball with any success.

A little bit of success in our ground game will keep their LB's honest and open things up a bit for Glennon. To be honest, we have looked our best in the no-huddle, quick route passing game. I know it's risky, but it wouldn't bother me a bit if we jumped into the 2min drill on our first possession of the game, just to try and put some quick points on the board and get to their heads.

I would like to see some points out of our first possession, and some grass on Renner's jersey on their first possession. We do that, and avoid turnovers, and we will be in the driver's seat.

TOB ended one streak last week. I feel like it's fate that this week another streak will end as well.

Too many x factors working against us this time around.

- fedora gives a shit about beating state
- they lost to duke last week and have probably been getting their asses kicked all week (much like our players after losing the miami game, and then being FSU). they'll be out for blood.
- home game for the holes.
- they have literally nothing else to play for this year other than tomorrow's game. They'll give us all they got.
- we've won two games in a row, and have been getting some good press. our teams don't perform as well when things are looking good.
- We can't seem to stop the run, and Gio is the best RB in the conference.

Prediction: UNC 24 NCSU 17
