If our players don't decide to play balls to wall on defense or our coaches don't decide to actually game plan on defense and take things away from the other team then every game against formidable competition will come down to the wire ASSUMING WE ARE SHOOTING WELL. Games we don't shoot well will be like oklahoma state and games against teams that are as good as us will be like michigan even if we shoot well.

The fundamental problems with the defense are that we usually end up defending one on one and brown goes under screens. Most offensive players can beat a defender one on one.

There is no concept of the team applying pressure by getting deflections or positioning so that you can easily help. We are just playing less sophisticated defense than the rest of the top teams.

Our defensive system is nowhere near as good as offensive system, which you can justifiably say is the best in the country. We can be the best on one side of the ball, so it shouldn't be unthinkable to be tops on the other side.
