I'd say I was the fat guy, but that's kind of vague. The only black guys I remember explicitly were a group of four dudes that came in during Whatever Brains' set and walked around looking somewhat disappointed.

If you go to the labor day weekend show I will racially deduce you then.

All street parking is free after 5. Decks are no charge after 7, and they don't charge at all if you leave after 10 or on the weekend.

I did body games, ama divers, pharmakon (somewhat terrifying...didn't stay long), sylvan esso (wasn't surprised they only played for 30 minutes), rosebuds, and then called it a night.

I think I tried to watch a set at The Hive during the first year and haven't been back since, other than for the occasional day party. It truly does suck as a venue.

Last night was my first time at Five Star in four years as it always seemed too far out of the way and usually didn't have anything that compelled me to go, but Water Liars turned in my favorite set of the night.

Angel Olsen was also amazing until I had a dude next to me answer his phone as she finished her set (which the rest of the crowd sat through in complete silence).

^^ SC Broadcasters are playing at least one free showcase during the IBMA festival, although I'm not sure where/when

Matthew Dear was a top 5 all time Hopscotch show for me. and I love Sylvan Esso so much. I'd like Grouper to play music while I fall asleep every night - not the best type of show for a festival, or for drunkenness.
