Just finished the book, never watched the show

I think it's pretty good for a summer sci fi show. A couple of the actors are bad (sheriff lady, journalist chick). Haven't read the book.

According to King it's quite different from the book, so not sure you can draw anything from the book to the show. Basically sounds like they just took the basic premise of a town surrounded by a dome and then went in their own direction from there.

i liked how in the most recent episode

a) it's only been 8 days. things escalate quickly on this show
b) they introduce a brand spanking new character who just happens to have the two main characters by the balls.

but yea, i'm still watching

this weeks episode felt like someone hit the fast forward button, it's been dragging along for a few episodes & then all of a sudden it's like, shit, we need to finish this thing up...fast forward.

I sadly have still enjoyed this show for entertainment value, the actors aren't setting the world on fire but I don't' care about it. I did think it was stupid to bring up that lady last week out of now where..that was a bit stupid.

I actually think the show has improved quite a bit from the early part of the season. I'm still not sure how this show is gonna last 2-3 seasons. After the first 2-3 episodes I thought it would certainly be cancelled, now I'm not surprised it got renewed.

I watched all of both Terra Nova and Under the Dome(so far), and the 2 shows are on par with each other, but Terra Nova costs substantially more money to make. Both have good ideas/worlds for the show, both have a couple of characters you like, but the story pacing is off, some of the dialog/acting is just bad, and they don't seem to embrace the world enough(Terra Nove hardly touching on the dinosaurs at all some episodes).

3 seasons?! Good god, the events of the book happened in like 4 days. That was one of the main themes, how fast people would divide and turn on each other when suddenly isolated.

^^Do you have TWC? Just go back and watch it on Primetime on Demand, it's what I ended up having to do because of the whole tennis match pushing the start time back 20-30 minutes.

Some of these people just following Big Jim like sheep trip me out, esp. the new sheriff, she seems like she doesn't trust him for the longest time and now is basically his lackey.

My DVR did this also. For some reason it recorded a full episode of Big Bang Theory followed by the first half of Under the Dome. It was on demand though so no big deal.

My DVR missed the last 15 min as well. I went to CBS and watched the vid clips.

I'm with you guys on the sheriff. I keep thinking back to the new sheriff lady knowing that big Jim rounded up a good ol fashioned posse and killed some fools over water a few episodes ago. Plenty of witnesses on that lawless event. Yet, a few verbal accusations by big Jim on Barbie, and it's a full blown manhunt that will certainly lead to a town hall hanging at high noon. Wtf? Anyone want a badge and gun? Anybody??

I really have enjoyed the show, it's a bit hokey but it keeps me entertained...the sheriff does really suck though. I'm ready to see how it plays out on the final episode.

I totally nailed the town hall hanging with Barbie last week. For the record, I've never read the book, in case that part was in there or not.

The sheriff lady was amongst the spectating crowd at the hanging. Um, shouldn't she be part of the execution, or...I don't know, pushing for a court of some sort? She is just terrible. "this egg is in police custody...". Haha

Anyways, enough ripping on the show. I was entertained, and will tune in next season to see what happens in this sci fi soap opera.

Like how the sheriff went from a decent character to a complete idiot in a matter of episodes. She was completely useless the last few episodes and went from not trusting Big Jim to basically being his puppet in the matter of about 2 episodes.

Didn't like the ending but I'm OK with it being a cliffhanger since they announced Season 2 so far back. If they pulled a "The Event" and that was the end-end...I'd be pretty pissed, haha.

lol at Julia. Even though she was shot in the lung LITERALLY the day prior she is running around because she has to tell everyone about Barbie's innocence. She even goes as far as to tell Angie that she can't help her until she does. She then proceeds to tell EXACTLY ZERO people that Barbie didn't shoot her and is innocent.

Also, isn't it only about 2 weeks since the dome went down? Julia sure did jump into bed with Barbie quickly considering she just found out that her husband was dead and a gambling deadbeat. Even when she thought he had just abandoned her, not even a shed tear, just "Oh well I guess that gives me a free pass to bang this dude".

Sadly, I really enjoyed the show this summer..but this last episode was stupid (more stupid than usual).

I wish someone would just put a damn cap in that police girls ass. She is completely worthless now & has managed to look worse & worse as each episode progresses. With that said, I'll be watching next year.
