this team is teh suck
we just suck. period
build the lineup around Gattis, A. Simmons, Freeman, La Stella and maybe Heyward and JUp. all other hitters need to GTFO
staff gets built around Teheran, Wood, Minor, Kimbrel, S. Simmons
all other players are too much of a liability as a whole. they all have weaknesses like most if not all players, but they just don't fit well as a unit. too many free swingers (it's OK to have a couple), shitty defenders and crappy pitchers (most of them relievers)

this team just...theres no words.
The pitching from the new(old) additions is starting to fall off. Harang and Santana aren't throwing the gems they were at the beginning of the season. Minor and Teheran aren't getting the run support they need. Floyd is just...well, hes a #4 or #5.
The hitting is just stupid. There is usually one guy in a night/series that is going to hit. Thats it. You're lucky if you can get anything out of anyone else. Freeman has been shit for a couple weeks. Finally seemed to get his swing back the last few days. BJ Upton has no clue where the strike zone is. Justin Upton is impatient as shit in crunch time. Evan Gattis is a star. La Stella looks great in his few opportunities. Simmons is the best glove in the league. He can bat .250 and still be valuable as hell. Heyward needs to continue his uptick. Chris Johnson...I believe we just wasted some more money at the beginning of the season. Hasn't shown the power or average he showed last year. 6/18/2014 8:44:45 PM |

Moving Tommy La Stella to leadoff while still having BJ Upton batting 2nd does absolutely nothing to help this team. Jesus Christ. BJ should be batting no higher than 8th 6/19/2014 7:25:21 PM |

For F's sake...of course Gavin Floyd would dominate the shit out of the Nationals throwing 64 pitches through 6 2 hit innings and then leave in the 7th with an injured elbow 6/19/2014 9:45:11 PM |

13th was a good inning. BJ led off with a walk(i can't stand BJ so I must point out that he walked on 5 pitches and 4 of them weren't even close to the plate)....Freeman worked a 3-2 count and with BJ running, singled into right for 1st and 3rd with 0 outs. Gattis, the awesome bear he is, singled to left to knock in BJ. Heywards grounded out, Johnson got walked, Simmons hit one up the middle that shoulda been a double play, but the Nats botched it scoring another run. 6/21/2014 5:44:37 AM |

At one point last night the Braves went 18 up and 18 down. This lineup really does suck.
Also J-Up is the next Nick Esasky. Having dizzy spells for three straight days. Hope he is not developing vertigo. 6/21/2014 8:36:39 AM |

http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/11190888/brian-mccann-never-comfortable-playing-new-york-yankees-says-terry-pendleton-atlanta-braves
Pendleton says that McCann is not a New York kinda guy and that he needs to relax and calm down to get back to the player he was. Then he says that the last few years he began trying to pull the ball constantly instead of hitting to all fields that made him so dangerous when he got to the big leagues.
Maybe hes right, but I'm not sure why Pendleton would/should be commenting on McCann. McCann has alot of years on his knees, Gattis is prolly the best hitting catcher in the NL if not the majors and Bethancourt is prolly the best prospect we have in the minors. McCann, especially for the price, was more than expendable. 7/8/2014 4:56:54 PM |

Harang is killing himself by not being able to get a damn bunt down tonight.
1st and 2nd with no outs in 2nd inning...fails to get bunt down, Braves score no runs. 1st and 3rd in the 4th with one out...fails to get bunt down, Braves score no runs.
Bj Uptons pathetic ass of course strikes out. I hope the Braves can get rid of both Uptons as soon as possible 7/10/2014 8:22:19 PM |

BJ sucks major ass, but Justin is a having a solid season and should have been an All-Star. Biggest complaint I have about Justin is he is too damn streaky. Braves offense simply does not get on base or score runs. I think we are only ahead of the historically bad Padres in runs scored. Its pretty amazing we aren't 10 games out of 1st to be honest. 7/11/2014 7:36:34 AM |

His worst season as a Marlin was better than his best season as a Brave. He never had under an 800 OPS as a Marlin. He never had an OPS higher than 764 as a Brave.
His final season as a Marlin in 2010, his line was .287/.369/.508.
His best season as a Brave was in 2011, his line was .233/.311/.453.
Somehow he made the allstar squad in 2012 with a final line of .220/.348/.384.
With the Marlins, he was probably the most dangerous 2nd baseman in the league. With the Braves, he was not very dangerous. 7/21/2014 2:28:29 PM |

^ that hitting streak in 2011 gave us hope heading into 2012, but i think most optimism faded during the 2012 season. the past 1.5 years his at-bats have been met with lots of groans and "oh, uggla struck out? ya dont say..." most folks in atlanta are pretty happy today that he was finally let go. 7/21/2014 4:32:20 PM |

Uggla's first season for the Braves was solid (36 HRs from a 2B is solid regardless if his OBP was .300). The other 3 years were I wish the guy the best as he seems like a good guy.
Was looking at the remaining schedules for both the Braves and Nats and the Braves have a much tougher schedule remaining. The Braves August is ridiculously loaded with good teams. The Braves do have an esier Sept than the Nats, but we may be just fighting for a WC spot at that point.

can we put an end to the Tommy LaStella at the top of the lineup bullshit now? Pretty sure hes about 0-the season in the 2 spot. Keep him at 6 or 7 where he hits .300 and keep Simmons at the 2 hole. This is what happens when you sign a bunch of wannabe power hitters and nobody that can make consistent contact. 7/22/2014 9:20:49 PM |

In NY this weekend for a family event and made it over to Cooperstown today. Saw Leo Mazzone out in front of the HOF. Got a pic with him that I'll post later when I'm at my laptop. Told him I wished that he was still the pitching coach. Also got a pic with Frank Robinson and saw some other HOFers like Cepeda, La Russa, etc. Biggest surprise was seeing John Rocker's ass on the sidewalk signing autographs and taking pics. 7/25/2014 9:14:10 PM |

Night game, definitely. Much more festive and the ballpark really lights up well at night. Games during the day can get extremely hot as well and it can get pretty uncomfortable. I doubt she would enjoy that.
Dodgers or Athletics, you can't go wrong really. Both pretty dang good squads. She more than likely won't give a flip anyways. 7/30/2014 8:13:51 AM |

2 games in a row where the Braves have the bases loaded with no outs in a late game situation and fail to score a run. Thats 6 outs with the bases loaded and they couldn't garner a walk, a hit or a pop fly. 8/3/2014 9:05:13 PM |

Well at least we began to choke in August this year. With no bats, pitching will only take you so far. Over the next 15 or so games, we will probably drop to 4th in the division. I could see us going 2-13 over that stretch 8/4/2014 3:02:07 PM |

Strasburg has to hate Turner Field. Dude never does well there and has already given up a 2 run bomb to J UP in the first inning.
I fully expect the Braves to lose however and for them to score 1 more run for the rest of the series. 8/8/2014 7:57:16 PM |

yup, the nightmare continues. 2 run homer to BJ Upton. I don't understand how a pitcher as good as Strasburg can be so bad in one stadium. Turner Field just kills him and its not even a batters park.
Freddie Freeman with a 2 run shot. Unbelievable.
